About this ebook
There are many ways to deal with the disappointments that people face from day to day. The giving-up stage is the easy part. The determination to succeed is the hard and sometimes scary part but will be worth the fight. Some people choose to shut down, give up, and hide themselves from others. From the beginning of time, people have been conditioned to keep going with the promise and reassurance of something better to come, thereby realizing that if you give up, you will never know what could have been. Therefore, getting up and trying to find a solution instead of accepting defeat at the benefit of others will make the rise from the fall worthwhile. Therefore, no matter how small or great the problem, a resolution must be acquired that you can live with and makes you happy.
This book depicts the life of one person who, when all the odds seemed against her, dug down and fought harder to gain and contain her status by renewing her strength and keeping her faith in God. This books describes how every time she was knocked down, she picked herself up, brushed off the dirt, and persevered until she made her situation work for her. People will try to discourage someone from reaching a goal they have set for themselves. The worst of that is that they lose out on what they could have accomplished. But those people who were waiting for you to fail laugh will carry on to the next stage.
The best way to deal with trials and tribulations is to know that they are to test you, not degrade you. They are to prepare you for what’s to come with a reward that is far greater than you would or could ever imagine.

Get Up and Try Again - Margaret Melinda Henderson
Chapter 1
Accepting Being Me
Everyone has a story to tell, and a story depicting the life of a person would probably begin with I love my life
or I lived a good life.
In essence, everyone has something they would like to change or would do differently if they had the chance. My life, if I had to describe it, would read like the book of Job in the Bible. I have experienced a lot in my life, and looking back, there are incidents that I would like to change and some I would like to forget. But as I aged and took a good look at my life, my conclusion is that though I would like to change some things, I can truly say I have lived a good life and, with the grace and mercy of the Lord, overcame many obstacles to still be the person that I am today.
God gave us all life, and in it is a purpose. Whatever we do or whatever else may happen, our life is a gift that comes from God. Although sometimes change is good, it should not come at the price of altering God’s plan for you.
Getting up and trying again when things seem to be against you and you just can’t figure out why gives a person the opportunity to make changes. Life is all about change, and we all make mistakes. Mistakes are not meant to define someone but to teach a lesson to us for us to learn the consequences that occur from our actions. We complain and carry regrets of the past and dwell on things we cannot change, thereby missing out on the better part of your life. Letting go of the past, though it will not change the situation, may in fact eventually change you.
Sometimes we fall and falter in our ways. People begin to think it is too late for them, and they put a lot of emphasis on their children in an effort to rekindle a life they had or wish they had. That old cliché that people try to live their lives through their children does hold some merit. What parent would not want to see their child succeed and, yes, do some of the things they never had the chance to do. The lesson we try to portray is that we do not want our children to make the same mistakes as we did. We try to prevent as much of the inevitable as we can and instill in them how to be a better and more productive person.
People are quick to say that the world has changed. The truth is that it is the people of the world that has changed, not the world. It is as God created it. The truth is, evolution has altered the world, and man has set out to force others to his way of thinking as he sets out to claim the world as his own.
From the beginning of time, the race for control has always been an issue. People complained about one thing or another and sought to be someone or something other than themselves instead of trusting God. Because of man’s failure to trust God and believe in and wait for him, man’s impatience makes him wonder where God is and why he does not answer them. Hebrews 13:8 in the Bible says, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Though man has to conform to the evolution of changing the world, man has a duty to recognize that the change should not have, in essence, controlled or changed him.
The wise man would look at a glass of water as half full, while the sceptic looks at the same glass of water as half empty. The answer to that cliché’ remains as much a mystery as the wonders of the world, but when looking at the way in which man lives his or her life, it is true that a person who lives his or her life in fear of what others believe or think of them will leave the greater part of their life half fulfilled.
Therefore, the life that a man lives must be as productive and rewarding as he would hope it to be, thereby leaving a legacy for others to follow, which will live on in his children as well. In doing so, his life should be a testimony of faith, strength, and courage, because how he or she lives their life shall be portrayed by those who knew him and they will speak for him or her at the last day
