    INTRODUCTION

B EFORE YOU BEAT ME up in your mind for writing a book about death or even wonder why a preacher would write a book about death, please take a moment and reflect on how many times you’ve heard a preacher preach or teach on death; or how many times have you sat down with a friend or family member and had a discussion about death… not many, right? Usually, death is referred to in a nervous comedy statement or when it occurs and it is absolutely necessary to be discussed. Well, that is the reason why we as Christians should learn more about this enemy (The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death 1 Corinthians 15:26) that has held so much power over us for so long. We, as Christians should also learn how we are actually the ones who have been empowered by the Creator of the universe to have authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19), which includes death.

I can see how death has wielded its power over our nation and our world because we have ignorantly allowed him to do so. I have personally lost loved ones too soon to sicknesses and even violent deaths, and I now know that in some of these cases, these deaths did not have to occur. Someone will definitely argue this point, because we have been taught that everything that happens is God’s will. I think that is our way of blaming God more for the bad things, rather than praising and thanking Him for the good things. Have you noticed how everything that happens bad with the weather is called an act of God? Why would a God Who loves us so much that He sent His only Son down here to save us bring destruction upon those He loves? Would you do it to your children? So why blame God for doing to His? It is time we started blaming the real culprit, and his name is satan (yes, I know I spelled it with a small s, because he doesn’t deserve to be capitalized in anything in my life. Yes, I do agree that nothing happens unless God allows it; so, the question is Why does God allow so many bad things to happen? One thing as believers we must become aware of is that God is Love and God is Good, and that He wants nothing but good for us, His children. You’re probably thinking, OK I get that, but it still does not answer the question of why God allows these bad things to happen? God created everything, and He is the God of the universe. He gave Adam and Eve dominion over this whole planet; and they sinned and gave the dominion over to satan. That is why satan is called the prince of this world." In spite of that, he does not now and never will he have power over God. God gave us a free will, and He will never force us to do anything. Yes God does allow things to happen that we do not understand and death is one of them. We have to remember that God has two Wills, His Divine Will and His Permissive Will. It is God’s Divine Will that we, His children may prosper and be in good health, and that we live long lives (or at least until our work is complete on this earth). What we seem to forget is that God is not the only entity working in this world system. Satan is very much alive and causing havoc in this world. Surely, we as believers in the God of pure and perfect Love cannot possibly think that it is God’s Divine Will for all these terrible things to happen. No, it is not, but because He did allow man to have free choice and his own will, God permits certain things to happen. Why does He allow it? This is a question I must admit that I don’t understand or know the answer to. I do know that God will work everything out for our Good if we just trust Him and believe.

Because of Who He is, we know that God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked; however, He wills or decrees their death. This expression of God’s will is revealed in the many verses of Scripture which indicate what God does and does not take pleasure in. For example, in 1 Timothy 2:4 we see that God desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth, yet we know that God’s Divine will is that no one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day" (John 6:44).

Speaking of satan, we know that it is his character as the father of the lie to deceive and to kill, steal, and destroy. This should open up our eyes as to who is causing all of the bad things that God is being blamed for doing. If a child gets killed by a car or gets shot, you can usually hear someone say that God took that child’s life. God did not take the child’s life. Whoever was driving the car or shooting the gun took the child’s life. It is true that the child’s spirit went home to be with God, but God did not cause the child to die.

At this time in my life, I am so thankful for revelation knowledge. There are so many things
