About this ebook

Bill Wilson is an upfront, honest follower of God, who has lived life believing that the Word of God is the truth. This book is one in a set of books, which has been inspired by his spiritual beliefs and his constant devotion to the Bible, Gods Word. Wilson shares a compilation of views that explore challenges in modern religion and the reason he feels man has drifted away from God.

Wilson, who has been a pastor for forty years, challenges spiritual pursuers to examine their beliefs. He encourages wholly accepting the spirit of Jesus Christ. Wilson provides glimpses into the way he has resisted Satan and loyally sought after the Word of God through his life stories and viewpoints, ultimately preparing for his eternal life with God.

Revealing a Righteous God provides an experienced pastors view on modern religion and why it is so vital for every one of us to trust and love God and the Bible, Gods holy Word.

    Foreword

    Dear readers,

I had gone to church for forty years and was so worried and confused by so much preaching on what I could or could not do, believing half the time that I would probably just have to go to hell for the things they preached and demanded of me. But since I started hearing the Bible preached as truth and how easy God was to get along with and how the Bible was easy to understand if preached and explained correctly, I have never been blessed so much in all my life as I have been blessed to go to Brother Bill’s church and grow in knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, being blessed more all the time, and walking closer with God.

I believe that if you will read any of his books you will just about never be the same again. I have read several books, but I have never read a book like the ones written by Brother Bill Wilson, my pastor.

    CHAPTER 1

The Difference between God and Man

W hen Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the garden, they were told they would be removed from the garden, which contained the tree of life. They would be forever barred from eating from it and living forever. God told Adam he would have to till the ground for his living. He cursed the ground so that it would not yield its full potential and Adam would have to contend with briars and thistles, and he did it all for man’s sake, that he would not forget God.

Doesn’t that mean he is supposed to work and earn his living by the sweat of his brow? The Bible tells that those who will not work ought not to eat. Reckon what that means? Guess we’ll have to get a specially trained college professor to explain the meaning to simple people like me.

Eve was told that she would have her conception multiplied in sorrow and her desire would be to her husband and he would rule over her. What happened to that law? Let me try to explain a little of what happened to that law.

Years ago, I was watching a little bit of the then-famous Phil Donahue talk show. They were talking about women’s rights and how badly they were being mistreated. One of the women spoke that biblical quote. Donahue quickly came up with a question, sounding like it came from out of complete shock: You don’t believe that he was talking about her husband would be given rule over her, do you? All the rest joined Phil in laughing that girl under her chair, and they moved on like Phil was some kind of a heroic Bible teacher. But that is what has happened to a many of God’s laws. After all, where is the bold preacher that would stand up to the great, worshipful Phil Donahue and tell him how stupid he really is?

Well, maybe I should back up a little on that one. I saw Oral Roberts take Phil down once till he had little where to go but under his chair. You can believe me. I enjoyed it. It gave me a lasting perspective about Oral Roberts.

I find that what God put into law in the beginning has not been changed from Genesis to Revelation. God stays the same from yesterday, today, and forever—that’s what he says. These laws were given to man so that he could know his creator and would not ever forget. Man seems to insist on not ever remembering. To forget God is a sure trip to hell and destruction, at least that is what he says (not God’s doing, just our choice).

There are really only two ways to see God: either a god that created man or a god that man created. Or maybe they created each other. How likely is that to have happened? I don’t believe I could put much stock in a god that man has created. Just doesn’t sound like a very stable theory to me.

If you prefer to call the Bible a theory, that’s up to you, but that would be sound proof that you do not believe the Bible. I reckon you can call it what you like, but it is the only theory I know much about that isn’t so full of holes that it will not hold corn shucks. Our schoolbooks are full of theories, but our federal courts have ruled that it is against our constitution to mention a theory, soundly backed up by the oldest and greatest, most proven book in the entire world, in a (what is supposed to be a public) schoolbook. I think we have a federal government that has fallen out of a well and maybe hit its head on the well pulley and appears to have received a fatal blow.

After the flood that destroyed the earth that then was, God vowed to never curse the earth again for man’s sake. He would destroy man and not his creation but acknowledged that man would destroy the earth before Jesus came back and intervened to keep man from destroying all flesh. One of the last things Jesus promised us in his Word was that he would make all things new when he returned, and we must endure through Jesus Christ.

God saw that punishment and correction was not working, so he has made an easy way to endure and be made new, for his new creation is to be destroyed with the old. The choice is ours. He has turned man loose to make his own choice. Can you be any fairer than that?

Man is so naïve to deny God or give him any credit or recognition for anything positive or good but blames him for everything wrong. Seems like man would be smart enough to know that, one way or the other, it’s surely wrong, but it seems he is not that smart. What God has given us is nature, and he predestinated it.
