Who What Why When Where and How of Spiritual Warfare: A Growing Christian's Revelation Through Battles and Victories
()
About this ebook
A book every Christian should have in their arsenal. In the world around us there is a war going on. A war of good and evil. We see it played out every day. It is an angelic war that has been going on for thousands, maybe millions, of years, but is now being fought here on this Earth. And God, in His Word""the Bible""tells us our enemy, Satan and his demons, come to steal, kill, and destroy. The battle is for our mind and soul and spirit. But God, through His Son Jesus, has given us everything we need to fight these daily battles, whether it be addictions (drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography) or damaging behavior patterns (anger, fear, anxiety, or depression). We can learn to fight for our freedom and not be a prisoner of war. I want to expose the enemy for who he is and show how he operates and reveal some of his schemes and ways of attack. He is a strong enemy that has been causing trouble since the beginning of time. But God has put us here to fight for Him. And even as mere humans created lower than the angels, if we trust and believe in Him, we can do mightier things than the angels and they must flee from us at the name of Jesus. Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

Battle Cry
John 9:25b says, One thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
If you ask me, I am not a preacher, or a teacher, or a counselor. And I have never thought of writing a book. But God has called me to do this, and as I have heard many times, there is not enough out there in the world to inform people on this subject. God has shown me many wonderful things in the past two years; some scary. But from the life I have chosen to live, God opened my eyes and said to go forth. Someone in our spiritual warfare class told someone else, If you have any questions about spiritual warfare, ask Bro. Donnie. He has been through it or seen it.
That’s not entirely true, but I want to share what I have seen and learned to the glory of God!
Acknowledgements
I want to thank God, and my LORD Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. For never giving up on me through my rebellion, and sin, either unknowingly or knowingly. Thank You. May this book bring You glory and praise, and help many people stand and fight. I love you.
And I want to thank my lovely wife Dee. Who has the wonderful gift of mercy. Thank you for sticking with me and keeping me even and balanced through this journey. I love you so much.
And to all my family, church family, and friends. I love you all. Thank you for loving me and praying and sharing. I talk about some situations and battles and victories in this book. If it may be your story and I didn’t talk to you, I’m sorry. But we all have said thank you to God, and given Him the praise.
And a special thank you to Pastor Caleb Martin, and Bro Bobby Smith. You men knew the war I was getting into, and prayed so much for me. And our small group class. Thank you so much for the prayers. It has made a huge difference.
John 4:24 says, God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth.
In the world around us we are all involved in an invisible war that rages on all day every day and every night. It is a battle that has been going on for thousands of years. And it is a battle for our very lives and our souls. The commanders in this war are very powerful and very smart. And they work in a realm that not many know about and many more have even heard of. They operate in the spirit world all around us and are rarely seen, except for the damage they cause or the victories that are won. It is a world that goes beyond our human senses. It’s like the wind; you can’t see it but you can see the effects of it. You can’t touch it but you can feel it. We have to have a sixth sense. And that is given by God, and He is called the Holy Spirit. When we accept Christ as our Savior, the Holy Spirit comes into us and dwells with us and is always there to direct us.
When I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior that is when the battles really began. But as a new Christian, I had no clue what was going on. And as far as I can remember, spiritual warfare was not preached about or even talked about. And not until recently did I even realize what was going on then. After years of ups and downs in my spiritual life, even thoughts of suicide, did I realize that the enemy was the cause of all my problems and I was not fighting the battle with my commander in chief. God has always been on my side and yours and will always be, but He gives us the choice to choose Him or reject Him.
Before we are born again through the blood of Jesus Christ, we are lost in our sins and Satan has a foothold in our lives. But he doesn’t have a lot to do with us because he knows he has us. But when we start to hear the good news of Jesus Christ and the power of His blood through His death, burial, and resurrection, that is when the attacks really start to come on. And once you become a Christian, he can’t have your soul but he will never stop trying to destroy you or trip you up any way he can. And as I found out the hard way, the attacks actually take on a whole new way of coming at you and with much more frequency and force and power.
But thanks be to God, we don’t have to fight for victories. We fight from victory! Jesus has already won the victory on the cross. He has paid our sin debt, and the empty tomb is the proof that we are fighting on the winning team. He has defeated death, hell, and the grave, and the enemy knows that he only has a short time left to deceive and destroy people here on this earth.
We are going to take a look in the written word of God and follow His battle plans on how the enemy attacks us and his schemes to deceive us and ultimately try to destroy us. Spiritual warfare is very real. But we have no reason to fear because God is all powerful and nothing happens anywhere or at any time that He is not aware of or that does not pass through His hands first. As we will see, Satan cannot do anything without God’s permission. And there are so many scriptures to show us just how the enemy operates and where he likes to attack. His greatest point of attack is in our own minds. I want you to memorize the verse below. This will be our battle verse all the way through our journey, with many more added to it.
The main reason in writing this book and everything that God has called me to do is to expose Satan and his demons for who and what they are—evil spiritual angels we call demons that have been cast out of God’s presence to the earth—and how they deceive us and lie to us and try to destroy us.
The title of this book is self-explanatory, but the battle is fought and won or lost in the how of spiritual warfare. The way the Lord has directed me is to show how the enemy attacks and that’s what the first sections are about. The end will show us how we fight and win these battles. If you get to a point that really stands out to you and you see how Satan is defeating you, don’t wait to read it all, go straight to the back, and see how we use the power given to us by God through His Son Jesus Christ and the Word of God to defeat the enemy which is just how Jesus himself battled Satan and made him leave defeated. And remember, always stay in communication with Him in prayer.
But before we get started, I have to take a moment to say that the only way to fight this war is through the blood of Jesus Christ. And if you have not accepted Him as your Lord and Savior, then your chance for victories are greatly minimized and the final victory for your soul is lost in eternity forever in hell and the lake of fire. With that being said, if that is where you are, then turn to the back of the book and take a trip on the Roman Road to salvation and eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord and then contact a trusted Christian friend or church and take the next step in your walk with Christ.
Romans 12:2 says, And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Who of Spiritual Warfare
Colossians 1:16 says, For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him.
There is an invisible war going on all around us. I have said if we could see what is going on in the spiritual world around us, our hearts would fail us and it would scare us to death. That’s why God doesn’t show us everything. He reveals to us what we can handle when we can handle it. Also, when we want to know.
Go read 2 Kings 6 and read the story of Elisha when he called on the Lord to open the eyes of his servant so he could see that there were heavenly forces all around them to help them in their battle. There are angels all around us and some are for God and us and some are against God and us. We live by faith for so much in our lives. Doctors we see, chairs we sit in, bridges we cross, and, yes, our God that we have not visibly seen (John 20:29). And if we can, by faith, believe in God who we have not seen and believe in His written word, then we believe that there are angels, good and bad. The bad angels we call demons! And they battle constantly in the invisible world around us. So who is involved in this spiritual war?
Simply put, everyone is involved in this invisible war. There is not a person alive in past, present, or future that does not deal with spiritual warfare or temptation. The Bible says, We are all born into sin
(Psalm 58:3) and We all sin and fall short of the glory of God
(Romans 3:23). And Jesus himself dealt with temptation in the wilderness from Satan.
But to begin, let’s look to the beginning. Let’s check our scripture memory. In Genesis 1:1, what are the first five words that we read? We believe from the word of
