Marriage: A God Concept
()
About this ebook
Marriage is a serious commitment! It is one that many people make without a complete understanding of what it is that they are getting into. Satan knows this, and his primary goal is stop people before they say "I do." If he fails at that, then he uses one of his many methods to destroy the marriage and get people to divorce. To his credit, many marriages fail at the first sign of trouble with spouses, finances, health, or other tiresome situations. They fail because people do not know that marriage is not about them. Marriage is all about the Creator, and it is how one accomplishes his or her purpose on earth. Marriage: A God Concept helps people grasp what marriage is before they commit, helps others remain committed, and helps those that are divorced to recommit. It teaches about marriage and what God's will is for it in life. It aids in the understanding of why it was designed by God and how that relates to success. The book redirects the focus back to God, allowing people to make and stay in a marriage commitment in full knowledge of what it entails. Marriage: A God Concept ultimately aims to develop a mature spiritual marriage between God and his people that will equip them to fulfill their purpose on earth and take delight in doing the work of the Father.

Preface
God first gave me the idea for writing a book back in 2007. I immediately wrote it down in my notebook and thought no more about it. About a year later, I started getting little reminders about writing the book. For example, I would see book titles like The Time Is Now
or hear someone speak about writing a book. To other people, it might not seem like much, but I began to notice a pattern of God prompting me to begin writing.
For a while, I studied and remained motivated. Then, I would get discouraged because I didn’t know exactly what I was supposed to be writing about. It wasn’t long before I had shelved the idea again.
In 2010, God began to speak to me again about the book, but I still didn’t pursue it. A couple of years later, I moved from North Carolina to Missouri, and I went through a period of depression. During that time, God showed me my issues and allowed me to see how they were directly connected to issues in my marital relationship.
As I took those issues to God, He pointed me back to Him. After fifteen years of marriage, I was allowing God to teach me how to be in a marriage. I began to study more and learn new things about God. I started to seek God about my relationship with Him. That was when I knew that marriage was what I was supposed to write about. However, I didn’t know how to begin.
I looked at self-help books and researched how other people started their books, but I didn’t get any inspiration. So I made an outline and started to write about what I believed marriage was, and how our natural marital issues mirror our relationship issues with God. Somehow, though, I knew that I still didn’t know how I was supposed to begin.
I started to pray specifically about how to begin writing the book. One Sunday morning, I went to a church only to find out that they had moved buildings and had an earlier service. I didn’t want to miss Sunday service, so I went to a neighboring church. When the Pastor got up to speak, he started his sermon like this, Many times, we don’t know where to start. But let’s start at the beginning. Turn to Genesis chapter one.
Immediately, I knew that God was speaking directly to me. I knew where to begin the book on marriage—at the beginning.
So, with a topic and a beginning, I started writing. However,
