About this ebook

ROAD MAP OF LIFE

Jeremiah 35:15 (NKJV)

I have also sent to you all My servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, ‘Turn Now everyone from his evil way, amend your doings, and do not go after other gods to serve them;'

I would liken the Word of God to a road map.

If the map does not show you how to get from where you, are to where you are going, with all the necessary directions, then it is useless. I can say the same thing about God's Word. He GAVE us the complete Bible, scripture by scripture, to guide us on our daily path through life. If we take out or change even one scripture, we face the same penalty as losing our road map – we become LOST!

    Preface

The writing of this book, Prophecy of The Future came about in 1979 while lying in a VA Hospital bed in Phoenix, Arizona. I was on the verge of dying for lack of blood from an unknown cause.

I felt that the Holy Spirit was trying to tell me something that I should do by the writing of things to come, according to God’s written Word. I was to stick strickly to scripture as written.

My instructions were, become a student of the Holy Spirit and use the Holy Bible as my textbook.

I began hand printing the things I felt God was telling me to write. Over a period of 28 days that I was hospitalized, the majority of Prophecy of The Future was written, and completed within the next few months. The manuscript lay dormant until 2019, when my wife encouraged me to use it in our daily devotions. Not wanting to read the small hand print, I began to put it into type. The name was changed to "God’s Way Out of The Darkness", and the scriptures were re-written from the King James Version, to the New King James Version of the Bible.

It is my hope and desire that this will challenge and inspire the reader to evaluate their relationship with God for the coming future, and make one of two choices—Heaven or Hell!

Chapter 1: Your Future in Prophecy

    Your Future in Prophecy

    2 Peter 1:21 (nkjv)

    21) For the prophecy never came by the will of men: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

For the prophecy came not in old time—It is true of all prophecy, that it is not by the will of man. The word "prophecy" here is without the article, meaning prophecy in general—all that is prophetic in the Old Testament; or, in a more general sense still, all that the prophets taught, whether relating to future events or not.

By the will of man—It was not of human origin; not discovered by the human mind. The word "will, here seems to be used in the sense of prompting or suggestion;" men did not speak by their own suggestion, but as truth was brought to them by God.

But holy men of God—Pious (pious—having reverence and love for God) men commissioned by God, or employed by him as his messengers to mankind.

Spake as they were moved by the Holy Spirit—Compare 2 Timothy 3:16. The idea is, that in what they spoke they were carried along by an influence from God. They moved in the case only as they were moved; they spoke only as the influence of the Holy Spirit was upon them. They were no more self-moved than a vessel at sea is that is moved by the wind; and as the progress made by the vessel is to be measured by the force bearing upon it, so the statements made by the prophets are to be traced to the impulse which bore upon their minds. They were not, indeed, in all respects like such a vessel, but only in regard to the fact that all they said as prophets was to be traced to the foreign influence that bore upon their minds.

    II Timothy 3:16 (nkjv)

    16) All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

There could not be, therefore, a more decided declaration than this in proof, that the prophets were inspired. If the authority of Peter is admitted, his positive and explicit assertion settles the question. If this be so, also, then the point with reference to which he makes this observation is abundantly confirmed, that the prophecies demand our earnest attention, and that we should give all the heed to them which we would to a light or lamp when traveling in a dangerous way, and in a dark night. In a still more general sense, the remark here made may also be applied to the whole of the Scriptures. We are in a dark world. We see few things clearly; and all around us, on a thousand questions, there is the obscurity of midnight. By nature, there is nothing to cast light on those questions, and we are perplexed, bewildered, embarrassed. The Bible is given to us to shed light on our way.

It is the only light which we have respecting the future, and though it does not give all the information which we might desire in regard to what is to come, yet it gives us sufficient light to guide us to heaven. It teaches us what is necessary to know about God, about our duty, and about the way of salvation, in order to conduct us safely; and no one who has committed himself to its direction, has been suffered to wander finally away from the paths of salvation. It is, therefore, a duty to attend to the instructions which the Bible imparts, and to commit ourselves to its holy guidance in our journey to a better world: for soon, if we are faithful to its teachings, the light of eternity will dawn upon us, and there, amidst its cloudless splendor, we shall see as we are seen, and know as we are known; then we shall need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God shall give us light, and we shall reign forever and ever. Compare Revelation 21:22-24; Revelation 22:5.

    Revelation 21:22-24 (nkjv)

The Glory of the New Jerusalem

    22) But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.

    23) The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.

    24) And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.

    Revelation 22:5 (nkjv)

    5) There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.

Therefore, we find that the Prophets were men of God and led by the Holy Spirit, even back in the Old Testament days. Even today men are led of the Holy Spirit in relaying God’s word. Beware of those that are not led of God!

As we begin these chapters on PROPHECY, it is my desire that each and every one look to God for direction from the Holy Spirit, to understand what God has been, and is now telling us, through His word, and His own word, the things that would take place down through the ages, from the Old Testament times until that day when every person stands before Him at the Great White Throne Judgment.

    I John 4:1-3 (nkjv)

Love for God and One Another

    1) Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

    2) By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,

    3) and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

It is my sincere intention to challenge you to read and study God’s Word, to look to Him, and not man for the interpretation there of.

    God’s Word—John 1:1-3 (nkjv)

    The Eternal Word

    1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

    2) He was in the beginning with God.

    3) All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

I would liken the Word of God to a road map. If the map does not show you how to get from where you are, to where you are going, with all the necessary directions, then it is useless. I can say the same thing about God’s Word. He GAVE us the complete Bible, scripture by scripture, to guide us on our daily path through life. If we take out or change even one scripture, we face the same penalty as losing our road map—we become LOST!

    Revelation 22:18-19 (nkjv)

    A Warning

    18) For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book;

    19) and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

How many times have we heard someone say, that scripture doesn’t apply, or that God never intended it to be that way? That is just a bunch of hog wash! If God had not meant it, or it did not apply, why would He have said it to begin with? God does not lie! It is time we all began to take God’s Word seriously—not just the parts we like, but ALL of it, no matter how much it goes against our personal opinions. God put it there for us—for a purpose, and it’s time we believed it as God said it.

I challenge anyone to show scripture to the contrary, to show that God only meant part of what He said.

Now that everyone agrees that God’s Word (ALL of it) is true and infallible, we will begin looking in depth into things that the Prophets, the Apostles, and Jesus Christ, Himself had to say about future events—things that must come to pass, if God’s Word be true.

I will begin with Nahum, a Prophecy made in 713 BC about conditions of today. Approximately 2500 years ago, we find today’s automobile being foretold.

    Nahum 2:3-4 (nkjv)

    3) The shields of his mighty men are made red,

The valiant men are in scarlet.

The chariots come with flaming torches

In the day of his preparation,

    And the spears are brandished.

    4) The chariots rage in the streets,

    They jostle one another in the broad roads;

    They seem like torches,

    They run like lightning.

Picture the freeways of today and the future. What day was Nahum talking about? The day of His preparation.

The preparation of Jesus Christ. This may seem an insignificant thing, but when we realize how infinite God is, and what He was trying to show His people, we can know that God has done all He can do to prepare the way for us, if we will only open our eyes, and our heart to Him.

And, again in the approximate time period, we find yet another Prophet by the name of Ezekiel, giving prophecy of our times.

    Ezekiel 36:1-38 (nkjv)

    Blessing on Israel

    1) "And you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say, ‘O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord!

    2) Thus says the Lord God: Because the enemy has said of you, ‘Aha! The ancient heights have become our possession’

    3) therefore prophesy, and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: Because they made you desolate and swallowed you up on every side, so that you became the possession of the rest of the nations, and you are taken up by the lips of talkers and slandered by the people

    4) therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God! Thus says the Lord God to the mountains, the hills, the rivers, the valleys, the desolate wastes, and the cities that have been forsaken, which became plunder and mockery to the rest of the nations all around—

    5) therefore thus says the Lord God: Surely I have spoken in My burning jealousy against the rest of the nations and against all Edom, who gave My land to themselves as a possession, with wholehearted joy and spiteful minds, in order to plunder its open country.

    6) Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains, the hills, the rivers, and the valleys, ‘Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and My fury, because you have borne the shame of the nations."

    7) Therefore thus says the Lord God: "I have raised My hand in an oath that surely the nations that are around you shall bear their own shame.

    8) But you, O mountains of Israel, you shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to My people Israel, for they are about to come.

    9) For indeed I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown.

    10) I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt.

    11) I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bear young; I will make you inhabited as in former times, and do better for you than at your beginnings. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.

    12) Yes, I will cause men to walk on you, My people Israel; they shall take possession of you, and you shall be their inheritance; no more shall you bereave them of children."

    13) ‘Thus says the Lord God: "Because they say to you, ‘You devour men and bereave your nation of children,’

    14) therefore you shall devour men no more, nor bereave your nation anymore," says the Lord God.

    15) Nor will I let you hear the taunts of the nations anymore, nor bear the reproach of the peoples anymore, nor shall you cause your nation to stumble anymore, says the Lord God.’"

    The Renewal of Israel

    16) Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

    17) "Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own ways and deeds; to Me their way was like the uncleanness of a woman in her customary impurity.

    18) Therefore I poured out My fury on them for the blood they had shed on the land, and for their idols with which they had defiled it.

    19) So I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed throughout the countries; I judged them according to their ways and their deeds.

    20) When they came to the nations, wherever they went, they profaned My holy name—when they said of them, ‘These are the people of the Lord, and yet they have gone out of His land.’

    21) But I had concern for My holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations wherever they went.

    22) Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord God: I do not do this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name’s sake, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went.

    23) And I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am the Lord, says the Lord God, when I am hallowed in you before their eyes.

    24) For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land.

    25) Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.

    26) I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

    27) I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

    28) Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God.

    29) I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses. I will call for the grain and multiply it, and bring no famine upon you.

    30) And I will multiply the fruit of your trees and the increase of your fields, so that you need never again bear the reproach of famine among the nations.

    31) Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good; and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight, for your iniquities and your abominations.

    32) Not for your sake do I do this, says the Lord God, let it be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel!"

    33) ‘Thus says the Lord God: "On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will also enable you to dwell in the cities, and the ruins shall be rebuilt.

    34) The desolate land shall be tilled instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass by.

    35) So they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and the wasted, desolate, and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.’

    36) Then the nations which are left all around you shall know that I, the Lord, have rebuilt the ruined places and planted what was desolate. I, the Lord, have spoken it, and I will do it."

    37) ‘Thus says the Lord God: "I will also let the house of Israel inquire of Me to do this for them: I will increase their men like a flock.

    38) Like a flock offered as holy sacrifices, like the flock at Jerusalem on its feast days, so shall the ruined cities be filled with flocks of men. Then they shall know that I am the Lord."’

Yes, Ezekiel prophesied over 2500 years ago that Israel (Jews) would be scattered all over the world because of their sins, BUT, in the Last Days they would be reunited in Palestine. This has come to pass on May 14, 1948, when they AGAIN became a nation. We find that the deserts of that area are yielding more and better crops—literally blossoming like a rose. How did Ezekiel know this would happen? God, through the Holy Spirit told him so!

Jesus, Himself describes in Luke 21:24 the future destruction of Jerusalem, which took place about 37 years after His death and resurrection. Again, we see prophecy fulfilled.

    Luke 21:24 (nkjv)

    24) And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

This destruction was carried out by the Roman General, Titus, in 70AD. He killed thousands and led remaining Jews into captivity, into all nations where they remained until 1948 when they began returning to Israel.

Notice that both Ezekiel and Jesus were talking about God’s chosen people, not Gentiles.

Ezekiel also prophesied of the SOON destruction of Russia, which we will see in the following chapter. Remember, it is a part of God’s Word and is just as sure to come to pass as if it was already done! This prophecy also foretold of modern-day airplanes, missiles, rockets and warfare!

How, may you ask, does this refer to such modern means? How can you ASCEND without mechanical means?

    Ezekiel 38:9 (nkjv)

    9) You will ascend, coming like a storm, covering the land like a cloud, you and all your troops and many peoples with you."

The Prophet, Daniel, about 555 BC, prophesied of the destruction of the all-powerful Kingdom of Babylon of his day; then foretold of the Medo-Persian Empire rise and fall; then of Alexander the Great’s Grecian Empire and of his downfall; and also, the rise of the old Roman Empire. He also foretold us that in the Last Days just before the return of Jesus Christ (His Second Coming, or RAPTURE of the Church) 10 nations would arise out of the old Roman Empire BEFORE the rise of a World Leader (Antchrist—The Beast). Today, we see nine such nations out of the old Roman Empire being assembled into the COMMOM Market, but there will be ten! THE WORD OF GOD CANNOT LIE!

    Daniel 12:4 NKJV)

    4) But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.

Notice the increase in travel during the past 30 years! Look at the great increase in knowledge!

Let us look now, at conditions of today, as compared to those before Noah and the flood. How did they differ from today?

In the next chapter, we look deeper into these scriptures, so study them very carefully.

    Jesus tells us—

    Matthew 24:6-8 (nkjv)

    6) And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
