A New Beginning - Patricia Bonura

    New Beginnings

Wouldn’t it be good to be able to start over and have a fresh new beginning every day? Imagine having everything we do each day washed away as though it never happen. The truth is, in Jesus, we can. As a believer in Christ, every day can be a new beginning. Wow!

You see, when Jesus died on the cross, He died for all our sins, not just a few of them. Jesus loved us enough to die on the cross for our sins (Romans 5:8). Therefore, as a believer in Christ all things are washed away and every day is a new beginning because Jesus shed His blood for your sins (2 Corinthians 5:17). How awesome is that? But in order to have this fresh start and new beginning every day, we must first know Him as Lord and Savior. Here’s how we can: first, ask Jesus to forgive you for your sins. Romans 3:23 says, For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Second, believe Jesus will forgive you for your sins and that He died and rose again for your sins (Romans 10:9). Third, ask Jesus into your heart and life as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:13).

Everybody wants a new beginning each day. How about you?

    Are You a Risk Taker?

It would be my guess that if you are a risk taker, it would probably depend upon the risk involved. Some people enjoy taking risks, while other people prefer the safe route. Yet there are those people who take risks which ultimately ended their lives.

The book of Matthew reveals to us that one day, Jesus will return for His people and that will be the end of our life here on earth. When Jesus returns, He will take His people with Him to be in His Kingdom. Jesus gives us warnings and signs regarding His coming, but no one except the Father knows when He will return. Since we don’t know when that time will be, the time for Salvation is now (Matthew 24:36). Are you prepared for Jesus’s coming? Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus so that when He returns you will be able to return with Him to heaven?

Jesus is a loving God and wants everyone to know Him personally. He gives us the opportunity by first asking Jesus to forgive you for your sins. Romans 3:23 says, For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Second, believe Jesus will forgive you and that He died and rose again for your sins (Romans 10:9). Third, ask Jesus into your heart and life as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:13).

How much of a risk taker are you? Revelation 20:15 says, And anyone not found written in the book of life was thrown in the lake of fire.

Once the door is shut, your chances are over and you will be separated from God forever. Are you willing to take that much of a risk?

    Blind Faith

Investments are funny. You may take a chance on something that you think will turn out good, yet that is not always the case. Other times, we might be skeptical about something that we think will be good, and to our surprise, it fails.

We don’t always know the outcome of something, but one thing we can be sure of is our Salvation. When we put our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we can be positive of the outcome. How do we know for sure? Here are three reasons we can know: First, because we step out in faith (Ephesians 2:8, 9). Second, when we do this by faith, Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to live in our heart, which leads and guides our lives (1 John 2:20). Third, Romans 10:13 says, Anyone who calls on the name of Jesus will be saved.

As a believer, we live with the hope that Jesus’s Promises are real and that one day, Jesus will return for us and He will bring us with Him into His Kingdom. Is believing in Him worth the investment and that it is the real deal? Absolutely! Why don’t you take the chance and find out for yourself? Here’s how: first, ask Jesus to forgive you for your sins. Romans 3:23 says, For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Second, believe Jesus will forgive you for your sins and that He died and rose again for your sins (Romans 10:9). Third, ask Jesus into your heart and life as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:13).

By doing this, one day you will find out your investment paid off big time.

    The Great Physician

Jesus truly is the Great Physician. Since Jesus sees and knows us from the inside out, He knows everything about us, what we feel and what we need. He doesn’t just heal us physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. In other words, He cares about our total well-being.

Jesus healed many people from various illnesses. He healed the lame, the blind, the deformed, those unable to speak, and many others (Matthew 15:29–30). Yet, Jesus’s healing doesn’t just stop at physical healing. Jesus loves us so much that He wants to heal us spiritually as well. Therefore, since Jesus paid the price on the cross for our sins, this allows us to be able to be healed spiritually. Since Jesus cared enough to heal our bodies, don’t you believe He cared enough to heal our soul? Because Jesus paid the price for our sins, our soul can only be healed by going to Jesus. The question is, if you want Jesus to heal your soul, what must you do? You must first, ask Jesus to forgive you for your sins. Romans 3:23 says, For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Second, believe Jesus will forgive you for your sins and that He died and rose again for your sins (Romans 10:9). Third, ask Jesus into your heart and life as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:13).

When we are physically sick, we go to a doctor, believing he can help us. Therefore, since Jesus is the Great Physician, why not go to the Him to heal us completely from the inside out?

    Celebrate

We celebrate many different things such as birthdays, weddings, the birth of a child, anniversaries, graduations, job promotions, and the list goes on and on. However, there is one thing we should celebrate every day, but we don’t, and that is Jesus. If we celebrate Jesus as we should, the celebration would be endless. To name a few reasons why we should celebrate Jesus are: He is our Creator, our hope, our Savior, our Counselor, our Comforter, our Friend, and most of all He loved us enough to die for us. John 3:16 says it best, For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. When we think about what Jesus did for us, it should blow our mind. Jesus died for our sins, and He loves us unconditionally. No conditions required, He never keeps score, and He never ask for anything in return. But His desire is for us to know Him personally as our Lord and Savior so we can be with Him in His Kingdom forever. We can do this by: first, asking Jesus to forgive you for your sins. Romans 3:23 says, For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Second, believe Jesus will forgive you for your sins and that He died and rose again for your sins (Romans 10:9). Third, ask Jesus into your heart and life as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:13).

Then you can celebrate Jesus every day.

    Count the Cost

My pastor, Rickie Wilson’s sermon today was all about counting the cost for Jesus. It gave me the idea for this letter.

Have you ever begun something that once you got started, it turned out to be more than you bargained for? In other words, you failed to count the cost. Sometimes, things are harder than we expected and it puts a strain on you to finish the task. Despite this, we have a driven force to complete the task we started.

Yet Jesus did just that when He went to the cross for our sins. Jesus gave His all for us so that we would be able to get into heaven. Jesus knew that it would cost Him (everything), even His very life. However, the cost was not too much for Him because He loved us enough to die for us (John 3:16). Therefore, do you love Him enough to accept Him as your Lord and Savior? If you have never done this, you can do this today by: first, asking Jesus to forgive you for your sins. Romans 3:23 says, For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Second, believe Jesus will forgive you for your sins and that He died and rose again for your sins (Romans 10:9). Third, ask Jesus into your heart and life as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:13).

The price we pay can never cost us more than what Jesus paid for our sins, but whatever the cost, it is worth your eternal Salvation. Are you willing to give your all for Jesus, as He gave His all for you? Salvation is free. How much is your soul worth?
