About this ebook
Between God and Me is a book about learning to trust God in all circumstances. It is the result of tragedies and triumphs of everyday life that only God could orchestrate as we trust in His unfailing love. It is designed to draw you closer to Him as you study His Word and put it into practice in your own life. Be blessed by Him as you read this book.
Kay Kevan Callentine
The author is a Christ follower who wants others to share eternity with the Lord Jesus in heaven. To that end, she has written devotionals and shared with others what Jesus means to her. The author has been involved in her local churches wherever she has lived. With a bachelor’s of arts degree in history and a master’s degree in education, the author was involved in curriculum writing throughout her forty-one-year career as a high school teacher. She was a public high school teacher for thirty-five years in California and then moved to Idaho to teach junior and senior high school students at a private Christian school. Retired from classroom teaching, the author now enjoys Bible study groups in the community and her local church, both as a teacher and as a learner. The author has two grown sons and three grandsons. She currently lives on the family farm in Idaho. She enjoys traveling the country and visiting family or historical sites. When she is not writing, she enjoys quilting, reading, and studying the Scriptures for deeper insights into the Word of God.

You Have Been Redeemed
Satan leads us into sinful paths;
Jesus offers green pastures.
Satan speaks in cunning lies;
Jesus expresses only Truth.
Satan wants you to be condemned;
Jesus says you are forgiven.
Satan will take you to hell;
Jesus provides the Way to heaven.
Satan wants you to die;
Jesus gives you life in Him.
Satan leaves you stranded and alone;
Jesus provides you with His armor.
The wiles of the devil
Lead to destruction and death.
The ways of the Lord
Grant resurrection with Christ.
Following Satan offers no peace;
Accepting the Savior brings joy.
The devil wants you to wallow in despair;
God declares Remember Me.
Remember that the LORD rescued you…in order to make you his very own people and his special possession, which is what you are today.
Deuteronomy 4:20 (NLT)

You are Set Free
Have you ever felt like you were in bondage to something? It could have been a bad habit or addiction, a debt or unwanted obligation, or some other restraint that held you captive. Then have you ever felt the exhilaration of being set from that bondage? Or does it still have strings to which you are attached?
The hold of Satan on our lives is real and it is strong. It is only through the power of Christ that we can be set free from whatever control the devil has on us, whether addiction or habit or lifestyle that is not what God wants for us. If we don’t know Jesus as Lord and Savior, the control Satan has over us will not be loosed.
Praise God! He has set us free and broken the hold sin has over us. When we accept Him, He sets us free from whatever has held us captive; the bondage of sin and destruction is gone. The change may be immediate in our lives or it may take hold gradually as we grow in our faith and relationship with the Lord. But once we surrender our lives to the Lord Jesus Christ and name Him as Savior for our lives He is now in control of us through the Holy Spirit. And that power is greater than all our sin and any other thing that we have been in captivity to. Jesus gives us new life in Him. He calls us in scripture a new creation.
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT) He shows us the way to heaven. Jesus told him,
I
