Dashed Hopes and Eternal Hope

We often expect God to do certain things in our lives, but despite our prayers, God seems to do otherwise. How then do we live with dashed hopes?

For all of us, this Yes, we will face some dashed hopes in this life, but this life was never meant to sustain the full weight of our hopes. Rather, we are called to set our ultimate – and in fact singular – hope on when Jesus Christ is revealed. It is this single hope that we are called to, a hope described in Revelation 21: 3-5. Here, we will live with God, as He puts an end to death, crying, and pain, and recreate a world where all our hopes will be fully realised. That, and that alone, is our one sure hope that will never disappoint. So while some our hopes on this side of eternity may not be realised, may we set our ultimate hope on the eternal promises of Christ.
