    Psalm 148

"Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise him in the heights.

Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.

Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.

Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.

Let them praise the name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.

He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass.

Praise the Lord from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps:

Fire, and hail; snow, and vapours; stormy wind fulfilling his word:

Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars:

Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl:

Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth:

Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children:

Let them praise the name of the Lord: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven."

    Faith

God promises: Trust in Me, and I will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5).

Satan deceives: You’re nothing, and your future is mine.

    Who will you believe?

    Leap into the Snow!

Foxes with faith? Actually, yes! Current research has shed some light on new information that can inspire us to have faith.

Foxes hunt small game, and in the winter seasons, have a creative way of hunting. Because of the snow, regular hunting is impossible. The ground that normally is home to many of the fox’s dinners is covered, making it difficult for the fox to find a meal.

To overcome this issue, the fox will stealthily creep up to a position where it can hear the sounds of field mice and other creatures underneath the snow. This must be conducted in absolute silence, lest any other disruption throws the fox off guard. Once the fox has located the exact area of the creature under the snow, the fox will spring. Leaping as high as six feet into the air, the fox will plunge headfirst into the snowdrift to catch his prey.

Foxes can dive through three feet of snow and still be successful in their hunt!

Some fascinating information has been discovered about the unusual antics of the fox. Scientists have concluded that foxes don’t just rely on hearing and scent to catch their prey in the snow, but they also use a more advanced technique.

Foxes use the earth’s magnetic field to locate their prey more accurately. Inside of their brains, magnetite crystals are found. These crystals help in direction and distance. The fox brilliantly uses them to locate the exact position of the creature he is trying to capture. Because he is able to use his scent, hearing, and the earth’s magnetic field, he can almost create an augmented reality to picture exactly where the prey is. If the fox uses this magnetic ability, he has a 74 percent increase in the percentage for a successful catch! This amazing feat is a definitely a proof of God’s special creation!

The fox’s ability to locate his desired dinner can help us see how God will guide us to locate our desires. If we think that God’s gift to the fox is amazing, how much more is God’s gift of the Holy Spirit to us! There are many decisions to be made in our lives that can completely change the direction of our future.

However, God doesn’t want us to feel frightened and perplexed about decisions. If we ask Him, He will give us the wisdom and the clarity of mind to make the best decisions possible.

We must depend solely on God, for He is perfect. He knows everything, so we can trust what He says implicitly.

The fox depended upon his sense of smell and hearing to locate the area of his prey as he could not see through the snow. He had to put all his faith into his senses.

This is the same for us. We cannot see into the future. We only see what is present and what has passed. But God knows the future. We must rely upon the Lord to direct us, and we must trust Him. Even when it seems as if it does not make sense to us now, we must trust God, for He is always the same.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever (Hebrews 13:8).

The Holy Spirit dwells inside our bodies and directs us. He gives us wisdom and understanding. Unfortunately, the Holy Spirit is very easy to ignore. He has a quiet voice that’s easy to be missed.

So we must be quiet. Just as the fox had to have absolute silence when he was about to jump, we must have silence in our lives to hear the Holy Spirit’s voice.

Be tuned in and ready to obey His commands.

Lastly, we see how the fox uses his incredible gift of discerning the earth’s magnetic field to navigate and create a virtual image for hunting. He has something that never changes, is always in the same direction, and can be counted upon to help him.

Likewise, we as Christians have the ability to use our magnetite crystals and read the Bible.

The Bible is a precious gift from God. If you are having trouble making decisions, read God’s Word. Take advantage of the truth at your fingertips. Unlike the magnetic field that only increased the fox’s accuracy by 74 percent, the Bible will increase your accuracy by 100 percent.

Consult God’s Word and prayerfully listen to the Holy Spirit with every decision you make. It will save you much heartache and many mistakes.

Friend, take up God’s Word—YOUR magnetite crystals—and boldly forge ahead into the choices of the new year. You don’t have to be afraid, for God’s truth will guide you in the way. Determine to follow in the footsteps of the fox and depend on the Lord, listen for His voice, and act out in faith! So what are you waiting for? Take a leap out into the snow!
