So when Cade tells Ava that he wants to make her dreams come true she is over-the-moon delighted and can't wait to begin on this new adventure with him.

    Chapter One

Cade, c’mon, we’re going to be late for the movie. I nudge Cade’s legs as he sits sprawled in front of the TV.

Aw, babe, do we have to? He looks up at me and grins, a slow, heart-stopping smile that always hit me right in the stomach.

I smile back, We do; Tammy and Patrick are waiting for us.

Cade rolls his eyes, Ava, you know I don’t like that Patrick guy. Why are we meeting with them again?

Because Tammy is my best friend and Patrick is a nice guy.

He’s such a bore. All he talks about is computers and AI technology. Cade grabs my hand and yanks me down on his lap. I have to laugh at his playfulness as he holds my chin gently and tips my face down to his, locking his blue eyes to mine. C’mon, Avy, let’s cancel on them and stay here. We can watch our own movie. His breath brushes over my face, and I feel a wave of love and desire for this man.

You know we can- Before I can even finish the sentence, his lips close the distance between us, and he kisses me. He’s demanding and passionate, and his slight stubble brushes against my skin as he holds me close. I can feel myself melting as the kiss deepens further. Cade’s hand travels down my back and up again causing tingles in it’s wake.

Oh no. He’s trying to seduce me into compliance. I pull my lips away from him and quickly stand up, leaving him looking a little hurt.

I bend down and give him a placating peck. You know we can’t cancel on them twice in a row. Of course, Patrick is going to talk about computers; he’s a programmer. You talk about sports a lot.

He shrugs, At least my job is interesting. Who wants to watch write a bunch of nonsensical numbers and letters on a screen?

I laugh, I could ask you why you want to watch a bunch of guys running around a football field?

Cade scoffs but finally stands up. Fine, but if he starts talking about pythons or whatever, I’m leaving.

It still takes us another twenty minutes to leave my apartment, with Cade complaining throughout. Tammy and Patrick are already waiting for us when we get to the theater.

I rush over, giving Tammy a quick hug. I am so sorry, I whisper in her ear.

Did Cade want to cancel again? she whispers back.

    I
