Son of Man, Prophesy Against the False Prophet - Donald Peart

    Acknowledgement

I acknowledge my preeminent teacher the Holy Spirit. It was His supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ that guided me through some difficult times as He taught me to recognize the deception of the erroneous prophet.

    Preface

I greet you, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Grace and peace be added to you. The Spirit of the Lord has directed me to prophesy again against the false prophet. At first, I questioned it. Then I heard a Man of God whom I trust, teach the same. Ezekiel was commanded to prophesy again.

God may have wanted to reiterate His message; Ezekiel may have not prophesied completely the first time. I do not really know. I guess in that day when we meet the Law (Moses, Ezra, etc.) and the Prophets (Elijah, Ezekiel, etc.); we can ask Ezekiel why he had to prophesy again? Or why he had to prophesy twice?

The Lord said to me the first time, Send it [the first book] to the seven Churches sown across the land. Now, the Lord instructed me to prophesy again against the false prophet and cast him down. I am to expose the false prophet’s purposes and prophesy his demise.

I have cited many references in this text, including the book of Revelation. These references will assist students of the Word to broaden their understanding.

I pray each section may be enlightening to you, strengthening your faith in Jesus, the Prophet.

    Foreword

Jesus our Lord, who is blessed forever, warned us of insincere prophets who would arise to deceive many (Matthew 7:15; Matthew 24:11; 24: 24; Luke 6:26). This is a topic that has not been discussed in Christendom, as it ought. I am aware of the practice of marginalizing certain angelic beings by optimizing Jesus, His blood that speaks strong things over us, His death, His burial, and His powerful resurrection.

This is true—we preach Jesus. Yet we must teach what the entire Bible says and how the Bible reads, with Jesus always having the preeminence. This book is not preaching the false prophet. This book is casting down the counterfeit prophet and exalting Jesus.

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, according to the apostle John, covered a broad range of visions. The Revelation of Jesus Christ involved things … (Revelation 1:1). Jesus’ revelation to John also addressed the things of the false prophet (Revelation 13; Revelation 16; Revelation 19, and so on). The apostle Paul also identified some of these things concerning the doctrine of demons.

Paul declared that those who warn the Church not to be lead astray by deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons … who instruct the brethren in these things are "good ministers of Jesus Christ …" (see 1Timothy 4:1-6). It is good to teach Jesus’ Church not to be deceived by the things (doctrines of demons) of the false prophet. Why do people totally ignore the apostles’ doctrine by making it seem out of place to instruct the Church concerning issues like this? Especially today when so many claim to be prophets.

As indicated above, Jesus also spoke against incorrect prophets in His lectures. Whenever, the topic of the false ministers arose, Jesus Himself, always gave understanding or clarifications. The same pattern is true today. The Church is asking questions about the fake prophets; the Spirit of Jesus is directing some to speak to the false prophet’s purposes. This is the question: Are there untrue prophets among us today? The answer to this question is yes! Phony prophets exist in every generation.

In fact, according to Peter, the false prophets of the last days will manifest as false teachers, with an emphasis on merchandising (marketing) the saints of Jesus. In every generation, there seems to be a quest to seek prophetic knowledge. This hunger in humanity is the gateway by which insincere prophets present themselves to be accepted (with a fee of course).¹

The blind pursuit of prophetic understanding is what causes people not to see the true nature of erroneous prophets. As a result, some false ones are accepted as being true. Thus, this sincere hunger of the innocent can be filled with all the illusions of another beastthe false prophet. Or should I say the illusions of the spirit of error who resides in the pseudo prophets.

There is one spirit behind the many imposters. This spirit is called the false prophet. This is significant because this other dragon or spirit of error can detect spiritual hunger in the simple. How do I know this? Vines Expository Dictionary defines dragon as a large serpent, so called because of its keen power of sight (from a root derk,—signifying to see).

One should conclude that the Church should be taught how to cast down the spirit behind insincere prophets. Remember discerning spirits is one of the manifestations of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:10). Once this is accomplished, the erroneous prophets can no longer deceive as easily by an unclean spirit. There is a spirit behind every lying prophet. The Old Testament teaches that a (one) lying spirit prophesied through four hundred prophets (2 Chronicles 18). This shows that falsehood energized by an unseen source. This is why we must know how to recognize the inward nature of the deceivers. Jesus taught that false prophets can be known by the internal fruit they produce.

Spirits have the ability to bear fruits. The Holy Spirit produces all good fruit (Galatians 5: 22-23). Our Lord Jesus, who is blessed forevermore, emphatically taught that we should recognize artificial prophets by the fruits they bear. Similarly, Jesus' true prophets are known by the fruit of the Holy Spirit. True prophets are full of good fruits without partiality (James 3:17), bringing people to the light; and Whatever makes manifest is light (Ephesians 5:13b).

Jesus warned of deceptions to come. Therefore, the Lord does not want any in His Church to be deceived. As Ezra and his contemporaries distinctly gave the sense of the law of God (Nehemiah 8:8) so, likewise, God’s apostles and prophets shall give a precise understanding of the writing of truth.

This is done in oneness with the Holy Spirit as He is inviting His disciples (the branches) to stay connected to Jesus (the Vine). The blood of Jesus is the nutrient that flows from the Vine to His branches in order for His disciples to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

One of the objectives of bearing Jesus’ fruit is to empower the Church to recognize the fruit of the Spirit as opposed to the rotten fruit of the false prophets. No one should follow or eat the fruit of those whom our heavenly father has not planted.

Jesus said that if we follow blind leaders, the blind followers and the blind leaders will both fall into the ditch (Matthew 15:13- 14). This ditch or deep hole in the ground is that place of torment for the false prophet(s) and his followers. We must be able to recognize sham fruits and trees that mimic. Therefore, by their fruits you will know them (Matthew 7:16).

    the false prophet, the spirit

Revelation 13:11-12, NKJV: ¹¹Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. ¹²And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence….

Revelation 19:20, NKJV: Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence ….

Revelation 16:13, NKJV: And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon … the beast, and … the false prophet.

1 John 4:1, NKJV: Beloved, do not believe every spirit … because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

First, we must establish that the false prophet is a spirit. This false prophet has an alias. He is also called another beast. This is the false prophet who worked signs and exercised all the authority of the first beast in his presence. This spirit beast from the earth manifests through a network of insincere prophets. There is an unclean spirit that energizes every erroneous prophet.

Contrarily, the Holy Spirit energize the testimony of Jesus. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (Revelation 19:10c). True prophets are not energized by the will of man, but by the moving of the Holy Spirit. For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21).

In opposition, lying prophets are also energized by an unholy spirit. In other words, if one looks beyond the physical, there is a
