Carl East

Carl East was born in 1956, in the City of Hull (officially Kingston upon Hull), in Northeast England. He began his writing career after turning 40, beginning with imaginative tales and then moving onto short stories. In the years that followed, he improved his writing skills with the help of other writers and online authors who gave of their time and skills, to offer advice and constructive criticism.  His vivid imagination took off as his writing explored the various genres of Science Fiction, Horror and Romance. He attained his greatest success while writing Erotic Fiction as he weaved stories of lusty encounters with distinctively entertaining characters to tickle the fancy of the growing fans of Erotica.  The years of heading out the door to a factory, manufacturing, or service job is now a thing of the past. Instead, he spends his time in a pleasantly chaotic home office, legs stretched out as he ponders his next story. With a steaming hot cup of tea and snacks by his side, the keyboard silently awaits, for the next “Ah Ha Moment” when another story begins.

    A Virtual Life

Sebastian was an unassuming doctor, and a caring one. He was born at the height of the computer era and used the technology for the betterment of mankind. His latest venture was an attempt to create a computer driven sensor for detecting cancer cells in the human body. He wanted a way for the process to take seconds, as opposed to days, and thereby save lives. He knew he wasn’t the first in the medical profession to try such a thing, but he believed he could be of benefit to those other people with his own research. Anything, that forwarded the technology was worth doing in his eyes.

However, it was during those trials that he came up with an idea that would enable him to help a special kind of medical condition. He was in the hospital going from ward to ward asking patients permission to conduct noninvasive experiments when he came across the coma ward. Obviously, he couldn’t ask anyone in there but it was in that ward where the new idea first struck him. He made notes and did some research and found that his idea not only had merit but could be beneficial to humanity.

Being a doctor, he already knew a fair bit about comas but he also knew that certain comas were beyond help. If his idea was to be of benefit, it had to be tried out on certain types of coma patients. After a little more research, he came across a type of coma that he felt his idea could be beneficial, and immediately set out to find a way to test it out. The patients that could benefit from this would be those who had been placed into a coma because of a lack of oxygen to the brain, suffering from something called hypoxia. The individuals, with these symptoms, were people who either had a heart attack, drowned or were strangled. Basically, any near-death experience that involved a lack of oxygen for an extended period.

A month later, he had a prototype of the headset
