Carl East was born in 1956, in the City of Hull (officially Kingston upon Hull), in Northeast England. He began his writing career after turning 40, beginning with imaginative tales and then moving onto short stories. Sally was having the time of her life, and it was all thanks to the orb that her grandfather had left her. Until she received the orb, she always thought that magic was make believe and something to entertain the kids with. However, upon finding out that magic was not only real, but within her control, her life changed irrevocably. What she didn’t know was that the orb exacted a price for being used, albeit a good one. The orb itself was powered by an incubus and would work, as long as the owner gave off emotions and lustful thoughts. The incubus lived on such carnal pleasures, and was finding the return on its investment well worth it in the form of Sally.

Sally knew none of this, although she did suspect that there was something more to the orb than simply magic. Not only was it granting her the wishes she asked for, but her dreams were becoming so intense that she actually looked forward to going to bed at night. In fact, at the time that this part of story began, she was in the middle of a daydream, about the dream she’d had the night before. That daydream was interrupted though when her smart phone rang and she answered it to find that it was her doctor calling. She was ringing to remind Sally that she had a yearly checkup scheduled for that day at twelve o’clock. Sally thanked her doctor for reminding her as she’d completely forgotten.

It was ten o’clock when she hung up and she had to move fast, as she was still in her pajamas. She’d planned to read on this particular day, but that was no longer
