Solution 1
If you combine the abbreviations of the chemical substances on the paper, you'll get two names: Una and Nico. These are also the names of the victim's fellow scientists, who were known to have been in the laboratory on the day of the murder. Given this evidence, it is clear that both of these two individuals are responsible for the crime. There was no doubt in the mind of the detective that these two were responsible for the crime. They had motive, opportunity, and means. Furthermore, the evidence was clear and conclusive. The detectives knew they had their killers.
Puzzle 2 - Jailbreak

He won't be able to get any food or water and only has two days to escape or he'll die. Andy can't dig a tunnel because it will take him much longer than two days to do it. How will he escape?
