About this ebook

Parables offer many important lessons about Jesus' teachings and how to live out his message both now and in the future. They educate children on values such as compassion, mercy, forgiveness and hard work. As children grow up, they can continue to learn more about the bible and its teachings by spending time in God's word. With each parable, Jesus offers another opportunity for us to embrace his message and work towards making it a reality.

This book explores the major themes of each parable in the Bible, as well as their relevance to everyday life. Ultimately, this is a reminder that even though the parables may be thousands of years old, they have the power to positively shape our lives today if we are willing to embrace them with open hearts.

The Parable of New Cloth and New Wineskins

Bible reference:  Matthew 9:16-1; Mark 2:21-22

The Parable of New Cloth and New Wineskins is found in both Matthew and Luke and tells a story of a man who was trying to pour new wine into old wineskins. This parable speaks to us about preparedness, as well as being open to change.

The Jesus used this parable to explain that he came with something entirely new - his message of God's Kingdom - which could not be contained within the understandings of people at that time, which were represented by the old wineskins. This parable contains a simple but powerful message about how we should approach the teachings of Jesus. In this story, Jesus taught us that following his way of life requires us to make changes in our lives and leave behind old ways of thinking and living. He emphasizes that simply patching up existing beliefs and practices will not suffice if we want to experience new growth – instead, we must discard our old ways entirely and accept his teachings wholeheartedly. This illustrates how essential it is for us to be open-minded when it comes to learning more about God's love, mercy, and grace.  By changing our hearts to align with the teachings of Jesus, we can open ourselves up to receiving His abundant
