About this ebook

Why it's so difficult to catch an active serial killer? Most of their murders can be masked as "natural cases". If the killers change their technique of killing every time, it will not be seen as a "series of crimes", they can operate for a long time.

If serial killers master their skills to dispose of the bodies of their victims, there is very little chance, that they will be found. Up to 40-42% of serial killers' crimes became "cold cases" for years.

That's why it's important to have the skills to recognise the killers if they are near you. A lot of serial killers have one similar trait, which you can notice.

The secrets of serial killers are described in this amazing crime book.

The book is written by a Forensic Psychiatrist and became very popular for readers across the world.

    HUMAN’S LEGS ON THE BEACH.

    ––––––––

    ––––––––

The group of happy students were having fun on Southsea beach. Suddenly, the smelly parts of the rubbish bags together with the curtain attracted their attention.

One of the students tried to kick the nearest bag, but then he noticed the hole with leaking blood on the side of it.

He came close to his discovery and pulled one of the bags towards himself...

The next minute, he was terrified by the view which opened his eyes. The human torso with the pelvis was accurately wrapped in the rubbish bags.

The legs were covered with the curtain, which appeared to be the main evidence of the murder in the court.

The head, arms, genitalia and heart were accurately cut off and missing from the body. This has never been found, despite the second discovery of internal organs not far from the first place.

The shocking news about maniacs cutting the bodies to pieces and walking in the neighbourhood spread within the hours. Most people were afraid to go out in the dark or send their children alone to play.

The intensive police search was going successfully and it was bringing some unexpected results. A few people had mentioned recently, that they saw a strange man riding his bike not far from both places of awful discoveries.

The description of the man and his bike was given to the police officers.

The strange thing was that not too many people remembered his face, but they kept in their memory the details of his unusual bike with the big box on the back of it.

This box was found later in the flat of the suspect with traces of blood from his victims. The killer used his bike to transport the parts of the human remains to the different places on the beach...

He was given a life sentence for the manslaughter of his friend, with whom they lived together in his small flat.

    Then years later. 2022...

The heavy metal door of the cell was open and I can see the silhouette of the man sitting in the dark corner of his cell. He turned his head towards me and the prison officer when we entered his cell.

My first impression was the feeling of danger, which was coming from this man. The silence starts to be too long and I started the conversation first.

Good morning, Colin. Would you like to follow us in the review room to have a chat?

He looked at me and a sarcastic smile appeared on his face:

I prefer to stay in the cell instead of going anywhere as one-to-one.

It feels in his reply that he wanted a challenge. I thought for a few seconds about how I should answer him and insisted again:

I would like to see you in the bigger room with the presence of the prison officer.

I remember very clearly from his file the alarm was not to see this prisoner alone due to danger to staff.

The numerous assaults were documented in his records with attempts to throw hot water from the kettle over the prison officers and other inmates.

He agreed finally and followed us to another part of the wing.

Colin was one of the prisoners who never give up the idea of violence. His best friend’s killing did not leave him any traces of guilt. He continued to blame his friend for his death even after many years.

He neglected my favourite cat and I punished him for it. Even if it was an emotional and not a pre-planned attack. Why do you think they caught me? he asked this question with the hope to get some answers.

I am sure, that you know better than me, what happened, I answered him with a quiet voice to see his reaction as he wanted to talk and release his anger.

They found cat’s fur on the old curtain, which I used to wrap the body, together with the rubbish bags. I needed to be more careful, they will never find me over wise, he concluded himself.

How many times have I heard from the killers their grief about the small details that they missed? None of them showed any regrets about the death they cause.

They can find excuses for their motives to kill and it can be anybody’s fault apart from theirs.

However, the profiles of serial killers and their stories are very popular. The amazing thing is that crime is always fascinating for most people. It attracts their mind and makes them wonder how were the last minutes of the victim or killers’ motives to kill.

It unlocks their mind to the mystery of the crime and the desire to find the secrets. Natural curiosity and our imagination can lead us to emotional increase when we read about crime or watch horror movies.

The usual life is too boring sometimes. It includes a series of routine steps like work, home, shopping and cooking, which we do on the day to day basis, sometimes automatically without any excitement.

The emotional hunger for the news terrifying our minds is still present inside everybody.

Some people are very intelligent and genius. The crime stories are like a source of energy supply for their clever minds.

But let’s go back to our prisoner.

Despite being behind prison bars, Colin continued to play his games. Like a number of prisoners, he announced a hunger strike for a few days.

Luckily enough, it was found later that he refused the prison food, but his county’s food orders were going and kept safe in his neighbour’s cell.

The recent discovery of the hidden food under his mattress put the final stop to his attempts to fool anybody.

Then he started to be friendly with another inmate to con him to get the hostage from female staff to his cell.

The timely actions of the prison officers and the separation of both inmates into the different wings helped to prevent the attack.

It was difficult to predict what kind of other games were in his mind. I am sure that he will invent something else in the nearest time as such people never stop usually.

Sometimes it’s very sad to see the waste of a human’s life behind prison bars. However, it needs to remember that it’s the cost of somebody’s life, a very dearest and precious one.

    Murder on the motorway.

January 2009. The tired motorist was driving on the M45 in hurry to get home as soon as possible. The strange picture suddenly appeared in front of his eyes.

The fire on the side of the motorway was burning out of control.

A passing motorist alerted the emergency services and police. The fire crews rushed to the scene to put the fire out. During the search of the area afterwards, the shocking discovery of human remains in the fire was unexpected.

Police cordoned off the area for the detailed inspection to take place to preserve any evidence that might be left. A 24-hour police guard was put around the scene.

The killer remains non-identified for many months. However, luck suddenly changed in the right direction. The phone call about the DNA match for the killer’s relative who was arrested for a minor offence led to the correct suspect.

This method of analysing relatives’ DNA with the former cold cases can make the progress in some murder cases. However, if

it shows a 10 out of 20 points match on some occasions, it can suggest false matches. Anyway, it’s used only in very serious cases of murder, where a lack of evidence and a high risk of a series of offences can be seen.

Everybody remembers the terrifying story of an American serial killer called The Golden State killer.  He raped over 45 women in California which was proven by the police and killed 12 people

(some of the police detectives think that the real number of the victims was over 60, but it was possible to prove only 12 murder cases over decades).

The recent DNA of his distant relative appeared to be on the DNA  database, which finally led the police to DeAngelo, one of the most wanted serial killers in California in the police extensive search.

The most surprising thing was that nobody will ever guess that the former police officer who lived just 5-7 miles away from most of his victims, was the main uncatchable predator over decades.

This case of the Golden State killer was very successful at the end of an investigation and similar cold cases of serial rapists have opened again in Texas and Florida, which led to prosecution based on the relatives’ DNA search in the main database.

    ––––––––

A similar DNA technique led to the conviction of the killer in the UK as it happened in many other cases of serious crime. But let’s go back to the killer. Who was the person who was able to kill and burn the human’s body near the motorway?

Sometimes you wonder what motivates the murderers to kill and what are their feelings about it.

When I asked this question on many occasions, I got usually a similar answer, which showed no
