1. Bạc Tình

Em vui trăng sáng, quên đèn!

Em đành hờ hững tình em trót thề.

Bao lời dịu ngọt, u mê,

Giờ anh vỡ mộng; ê chề đớn đau.

Lời xưa em đã quên mau,

Hồn anh rã rượu; tim sầu nát tan.

Tình nồng giờ đống tro tàn,

Lời thương, lời nhớ theo làn gió bay.

Trôi theo năm, tháng, cùng ngày,

Anh đành ôm hận đổi thay tình đời.

Đò anh em đã xa rời,

Qua sông chẳng nói đôi lời cám ơn!

Tình chấp cánh

1. Betrayed Love

You prefer the moon to the lamp!

You cannot but are indifferent to the love you should have sworn for me.

Your sweet words cast a spell on me.

Now, my dream is broken, and I am extremely suffering.

You forget your past oaths.

My soul is feeble, and my sad heart Is broken into pieces.

Now, our warm love is like a heap of cool ash.

Your words of loving and missing me fly up in the wind!

And pass with the time.

I cannot but embrace the grief caused by your betrayal!

I was like a boat you left behind.

After crossing, you said no thanks to me!!!

2. Bơ Vơ

Trót mang số kiếp long đong,

Đường tình trắc trở, cõi lòng nát hoang.

Bao năm hồn luống bẽ bàng,

Bao năm đơn chiếc, tim loang giọt sầu.

Đời ta trôi dạt về đâu?

Như thuyền không lái nơi nao bến bờ?

Làm sao tìm được bến mơ

Cho đời biển lặng kẻo sơ xác đời?

Tìm đâu dịu ngọt đôi lời

Cho hồn ấm lại, tim thôi héo tàn?

Nặn đầu suy nghĩ miên man,

Đêm khuya thao thức, ngồi than một mình.

Ánh đèn soi toả bóng mình,

Đơn côi độc ẩm, tâm tình cùng thơ.

Phải chăng chỉ có trong mơ

Người xưa ẩn hiện mơ mơ màng màng?!

Nén buồn, quên nỗi trái ngang,

Thôi đành tiếp bước lang thang một mình.

Quẩn quanh ta với bóng mình,

Cùng ta đi trọn hành trình lẻ loi!!

2. Aloneness

My life should have already predestined with ups and downs,

My love history was imperfect.

My soul was stained with biting pains,

My heart was lonesome and filled with drops of sadness for many years.

Where will my life be drifted?

As if it were a rudderless boat! Where to go?

How will it reach a ferry-quay as in my dream

To be peaceful and no longer grief-torn?

Where will sweet words be found

So that my soul will be warmed up again,

And my heart will be refreshed?

During the late night I am sitting, racking my mind, and lamenting alone.

The lamp is casting my shadow,

I am drinking alone, and confiding in my poem.

My dream will never come true, will it?

The illusory image of my former beloved is in intermittent apparition.

I suppress my sorrow to forget my adversity,

And I cannot but continue wandering by myself!

There are only my shadow and I,

Together to complete my solo journey of life!!!

3. Cô Gái Việt

Hỡi cô gái Việt kia ơi!

Dáng kiều tha thướt làm tôi sững sờ!

Tóc thề vờn gió lửng lơ,

Nụ cười hàm tiếu thẫn thờ hồn tôi!

Mắt nhung gợn ánh xa xôi,

Tim tôi rung động bồi hồi mộng mơ.

Ước gì quen được nàng thơ (*)

Sưởi hồn giá lạnh; bơ vơ tim sầu!

Tôi hằng mơ mộng từ lâu,

Phương xa lặn lội; giờ đây, thoả lòng.

Ngắm cô, rạo rực ước mong,

Duyên tình xe thắm; mặn nồng sánh đôi.

Dừng chân, tôi tỏ đôi lời,

Đi đâu vội thế để tôi lỡ làng!

Thuyền vừa cặp bến đò ngang,

Cô ơi! Hãy đợi, đừng sang một mình!

Kẻo sông ngăn cách đôi mình,

Tôi bên bến đợi, nặng tình nhớ thương!!!

3. Vietnamese Girl

Hello there! A Vietnamese girl!

Your graceful stature entrances me!

Your stream of black hair is gently fluttering in the breeze.

Your budding smile casts a magic spell on my soul!

Your velvety black eyes radiate far-reaching light,

My heart is nervously stirred with dreams.

Hoping I am acquainted with you, an innocent girl,

My cold soul is warmed, and my lonely, sad heart is cherished!

I have ever dreamt of the sight of a Vietnamese girl long ago,

Travelling here from far away, now I am satisfied!

During admiring your angelic beauty, I hope in my heart

That our magnificent marriage will come true!

Please stop walking away so that I could reveal my heart words!

Where do you go in a hurry?! Or I will lose a chance to talk with you!

When the boat already reaches the ferry-pier (quay),

Now, now! Please wait for me! Don’t cross alone,

Or the river will separate us;

Then, I will be left behind with my down-weighed missing you!!!

4. Nỗi Lòng Chinh Phụ

Tiễn Biệt

Quê hương nguy biến, điêu linh,

Phận trai từ giã thư sinh lên đường.

Chàng theo tiếng gọi sa trường,

Tiễn chàng, thiếp nén lệ thương đôi dòng.

Chàng đi; thiếp sống chờ mong,

Tươi vui ngoài mặt; trong lòng xót xa.

Giữa cơn binh biến sơn hà,

Tình quê xem nặng; tình nhà phù vân.

Trót sinh làm vợ chinh nhân,

Thiếp xin chàng chớ ngại ngần ra đi.

Võ câu dục dã biên thuỳ,

Chí trai kiêu dũng, gian nguy chằng sờn.

Chàng đi; thiếp dạ keo sơn,

Mẹ cha nuôi dưỡng công ơn đáp đền.

Dạy con nghiệp lớn làm nên,

Kiếm, cung, văn, võ vững bền non sông.

Rạng danh nói giống Tiên Rồng,

Mà không hổ thẹn phụ lòng tiền nhân!

Chàng ơi! Vì nước, vì dân,

Giáp bào, gươm báu dấn thân diệt thù!

Mong Ngóng

Đến nay đã mấy thu sang,

Bao mùa nhung nhớ bóng chàng nơi đâu?

Nhớ chàng lòng quặn nỗi sầu,

Thời gian xa cách đêm thâu chập chờn.

Đèn dầu toả bóng cô đơn,

Thương chàng rong ruổi giang sơn dậm trường.

Chàng ơi! Thiếp chốn hậu phương,

Đêm ngày đong đếm, xót thương vô bờ.

Qua song vằng vặc trăng thơ,

Ngắm trăng, thiếp mộng giấc mơ bên chàng.

Ngoài hiên, sào sạc lá vàng,

Lắng nghe lá đổ, ngỡ rằng vó câu.

Chàng về cho vợi nỗi sầu,

Chàng về cho thắm nghĩa sâu tình nồng.

Chàng về cho thoả nhớ mong,

Kẻo rồi hoá đá bởi trông ngóng chàng!!!

4. Heart of a Warrior’s Wife

Seeing off

While the motherland is in danger and suffering,

Being a man, you ought to leave your schooling life for the military one.

You follow the call for the battlefield.

While seeing you off, I must suppress my tears from running out.

After your departure, I cannot but live in melancholy and expectation.

Outwards, I keep myself happy; but, inwards, my heart is painful.

When our nation is at war,

My sentimental scale is heavy on our patriotism, but cloud-light on our conjugal ties.

I was already predestined to be the wife of a soldier;

Therefore, you, do not hesitate to go to battle!

Resounding horse hoofs reflect hurry toward the front line.

Show your courage and your determination before dangerous challenges!

Despite your absence, I am always your constant wife.

At home, I fulfill my duty toward our parents to express our gratitude to them.

I raise and educate our children how to attain great achievements.

I train them excellent at the literary and martial talents to protect our motherland.

I moralize to them how not to disgrace our ancestry.

I teach them how to follow the good examples of our descent of Fairy and Dragon.

My dear! For our nation and people,

With your suit of armor and precious sword, involve yourself in the fight against our enemy!

Expectation

Until now, many autumns have passed by.

Through these melancholy seasons, I wondered where your sight was.

My heart was filled with grief due to missing you.

During the time of our separation, I could not get a sound sleep every night.

During sitting by an oil lamp, I see my lone shadow on the wall.

I love you for your weather-battered journeys so far away from home.

My dear! Living in the rear line,

I have counted days and nights of my boundless sorrow!

Shining through the barred window is the radiant moonlight.

While I am watching the moon, my dream of being beside you is arising in my heart.

From the outside of our house, I am listening to the sounds of falling leaves,

I dream those are the sounds of your horse hoofs returning home.

My dear! Your returning home reduces my sadness.

Your returning home refreshes our warm and deep conjugal life.

Your returning home relieves me of missing you infinitely,

Or I will be changed into rock by my expectation of you!

5. Chợt Cảm

1. Bao lá vàng rơi

Ngập tràn mặt đất.

Làn gió thu sang

Reo khúc nhạc sầu!

2. Nàng thu lại đến.

Gây lòng vấn vương.

Vui buồn kỷ niệm,

Ẩn hiện hồn anh,

3. Mờ mờ trong trí

Hình bóng em yêu.

Dáng em diễm kiều,

Tóc xoả thướt tha.

4. Nét mặt dịu hiền,

Làn môi mọng đỏ,

Nụ cười hoa nở,

Ánh mắt sang trong.

5. Em là tiên nữ

Thương xót đời anh.

Em là suối ngọt,

Tưới mảnh hồn khô.

6. Từng bước chân qua

Tây Ninh rừng rậm,

Mý Chánh cháy da,

Nam Lào đêm lạnh.

7. Muôn ngày như một

Cơm sấy, cá khô.

Chuẩn bị lên đường,

Ba lô vai nặng.

8. Lính đời gian khổ,

Vui buồn lẫn lộn.

Tiền tuyền hăng say.

Hậu phương hiền dịu.

9. Giữa vùng nắng bỏng

Đẫm ướt mồ hôi.

Thèm một ly bia,

Uống cho đã khát.

10. Những lần chạm địch,

Mải lo chiến đấu,

Quên hẳn em yêu.

Đừng hờn anh nhé!

11. Khoát áo chiến binh,

Sống đời binh nghiệp.

Cuộc đời gió bụi,

Dáng dấp phong trần.

12. Hành quân liên tục,

Để lại người yêu;

Hậu phương lẻ bóng,

Năm tháng cô liêu!

13. Xin em thấu hiểu.

Nghiệp dĩ đời trai:

Vai nợ giang san

Vai mang dân tộc.

14. Những chiều dừng quân.

Khi mưa rơi nhẹ

Dưới túp lều căng,

Lòng dâng nỗi nhớ!

15. Dệt bao mộng đẹp.

Thả hồn theo khói.

Bay bổng không gian.

Về thăm em đó!

16. Chỉ mong có lệnh

Được về hậu phương

Để sống bên em

Vui sao kể xiết.

17. Đời người lính trẻ,

Sống bất cần đời,

Chỉ có em thôi

Làm nguồn an ủi!

18. Đôi lúc ba gai,

Thôi đành ký củ

Để được gần em

Thêm đôi ba bữa.

19. Quà ghé thăm em

Chẳng đoá hoa hồng.

Chỉ gói ô mai,

Tỏ tình thương nhớ!

20. Tình ta đơn giản.

Em chẳng với cao.

Quả thật đáng yêu!
