About this ebook

This is a collection of writings based on the conversations happening in corporate premises. In my profession as an Engineer, I had a long tenure in the public sector like Bharat Electronics Ltd, and then at a few multinational companies like Alstom, HCL Perot and Oracle. I was active in the PMI Bangalore chapter and even served in the managing committee as Director for one year, this gave me another view of the corporate culture. I had the opportunity of interacting with thousands of people of divergent culture and background, interacting with many other corporate was part of job at Oracle also and that provided many more opportunities to meet a variety of people.

The conversations I had or heard while working with my peers, superiors and team members is the inspiration for these writings.

    2. Taxonomy of Organization

    Many thanks to Basavarajaiah for innumerable nice conversations I had with him when I worked with him in Bharath Electronics Ltd. Basavarajaiah was my Manager for few years in BEL, he was task master.

    One should have killing instinct in the work, we should do the work with strong intention of finishing it today was his favorite dialogue. He was a down to earth kind of man. He was always jovial, keeping the ambience lively and enthusiastic with his jokes and down to earth conversations. One of his favorite jokes was 'Taxonomy of Organization'. This joke or the bitter theory of Organization applies to all types of organizations viz Government Departments, Public sectors, Private Sectors, Multinational Companies, Small business houses etc. I have shared this theory with audience in many forums like PMI, my office coffee table meets, lunch sessions etc. The audience have a hearty laugh when they hear to this.

    Taxonomy is a topic under subject Botany, as most of you are aware Botany is subject of studying plants, the counter part of Botany is Zoology which focuses on study of animals. Botany and Zoology put together is Biology. Taxonomy deals with classification of plants.

    Taxonomy is the science of naming, describing and classifying organisms. Plants, animals and microorganisms,
