Gardening has a long and interesting history. It’s also a culturally significant practice as it exemplifies the relationship of humans to nature.
By definition, gardening is the cultivation of trees, shrubs, flowers, fruits, vegetables or herbs in a plot of ground, often near a house, to serve human needs. It’s not all about us, though — our gardens can also fulfil ecological functions, serving the needs of nature, too.
