HOW TO LIVE WITH A VIRGO - Daniel T. Darmody
Dedications
For my wife, Jean, without whom I wouldn't have had the need to write this book.
And for my parents,
My dearly departed mother, Pearline, and my dearly departed father, John, who always told me I could accomplish anything I set my mind to.

Am Lost Without Your Light
By
Daniel T. Darmody
This is not an easy poem to write because I lost my wife
She was the recipient of my love and the love of my life
She and I were interconnected so we knew what the other would say
When she died and left this realm it was a dark, dark day.
I loved her and she loved me, but it wasn’t all a bed of roses
Sometimes we fought about some absurd thing, and we went noses to noses
But we never went to bed mad because we would both say we were contrite
Before we went to sleep and told each other good night
My heart has been an open wound since she left me alone
I would like to say that in all these months I have grown,
But since feel like I am adrift all by myself with no one to save me
I just think of the great life we had together can’t you see
No one knew me like Jean and loved me anyway
We had fights but she would find a way to make me stay
We worked hard to understand and love each other
No one is left on whose shoulder I can cry not even my mother
I wish that writing this poem would be not so hard
But if it wasn’t, I could just buy a grieving card
No one else can say what I say
And nothing that simple can make the pain go away
I want to tell her and let her know I won’t forget
And our life together I could never regret
I will love you forever my dear
Sorry if I was such a pain in the rear

Preface
Let me preface this book by saying that I have not acquired all my knowledge of Virgos from books or newspaper horoscopes. No, I did it the hard way, by marrying one! Our marriage is a happy one, but not without considerable patience on my part. Admittedly, I am not the easiest person in the world to live with either, being an Aquarius, but that is for another book. I do not write this book to make fun of or pick on Virgos, but at the urging of my wife and other couples, where one of the two is a Virgo. The assertions that I have made have never been met with anger, but rather with knowing laughter! So, please don't hate me for stating what I see as the truth. Instead, read on and laugh with us at the many ways in which Virgos affect our lives, whether we realize it or not. You just may find that Virgos will grow on you. And please, if you are a Virgo or an astrologer and you see something that doesn't ring true, be aware that I do not write this book as a Virgo or an astrologer, but rather as someone whose life is affected daily by Virgos (I know many!).

The Zodiac
AN ILLUSION YOU MUST LIVE WITH
The zodiac is an imaginary swath of the sky along which the stars, Sun, Moon, and planets appear to move. The zodiac is roughly 18 degrees in width and is tilted at an angle of 33.5 degrees relative to the equator. This swath is also the parade ground for twelve constellations listed by Ptolemy in Star Catalogue of AD 150 as Aries the Ram, Taurus the Bull, Gemini the Twins, Cancer the Crab, Leo the Lion, Virgo the Virgin, Libra the Scales (the only inanimate sign), Scorpius the Scorpion, Sagittarius the Archer, Capricorn the Goat, Aquarius the Water Carrier, and Pisces the Fish. There are other constellations, too Ophiuchus, bits of Cetus, Sextants, and Orion, but for most purposes they are ignored.

VIRGO
Virgo is the sixth Sign of the Zodiac. The first five Signs represent the growth of the individual, and Virgos bring their skills and talents together for the good of others. Virgo is the Sign of Service. Despite their inherent modesty, people born under Virgo are industrious and efficient when working for a good cause. They are neat and well organized. As the sixth Sign, Virgo also rules the sixth House: the House of Health.
