About this ebook

The Bible says “only God has immortality.” When Adam and Eve were driven from the Garden of Eden, an angel was posted to guard the tree of life so that sinners would not eat of the tree and “live forever” (Genesis 3:22-24). The teachings that sinners are immortal in hell originated with Satan's influence and is completely untruthful. How we think of “soul” today has been influenced by Socrates and Plato. Genesis 3:3-5 says; But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die. And the serpent said unto the woman, You shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day you eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Thus, God prevented the immortality of sin when it entered this earth by guarding the Tree of Life. An eternal hell of torment would perpetuate the remembrance of sin. More directly to the point of the eternal punishment of unbelieving sinners is where the Bible says the wicked will suffer “The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” as read from Romans 6:23. Destruction is found in Job 21:30, which reports, That the wicked are reserved to the day of destruction? Psalms 37:20, relates, But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away. Eighteen verses later, Psalms says, But the transgressors shall be destroyed together; The future of the wicked shall be cut off.
We could continue ad-infinitely with clear and specific Biblical examples of what the wicked will face—like “burn” up ~ Malachi 4:1, “destroyed together” ~ Psalms 37:38, “shall be cut off” ~ Psalms 37:9, “shall be slain” ~ Psalms 62:3, God will “destroy” them ~ Psalms 145:20, and “fire shall devour them” ~ Psalms 21:9. All of these referenced works seem to clearly speak to human deaths where the wicked are destroyed. Never once in these references does it indicate the wicked live forever in misery.

    Are Sinner's Souls Immortal?

For the purpose of this study the definition of Bible scholar or just scholar is someone or some group that states they believe in Christ but takes exception to some of Christianity's mainstream beliefs. During our previous The Lake of Fire study, it was noted that some biblical scholars interpret scriptural characterizations of Hell as a location where human sinners are held prior to the Judgment at the Great White Throne. Then, these scholars purpose individual punishments are metered out and the wicked are put to death, not living in eternal torment.

That's why this week's study begins with the very words of Jesus himself. Luke 11:14-32, Easy-to-Read Version, One time Jesus was sending a demon out of a man who could not talk. When the demon came out, the man was able to speak. The crowds were amazed. But some of the people said, He uses the power of Satan to force demons out of people. Satan is the ruler of demons. Others there wanted to test Jesus. They asked him to do a miracle as a sign from God. But he knew what they were thinking. So he said to them, "Every kingdom that fights against itself will be destroyed. And a family that fights against itself will break apart. So if Satan is fighting against himself, how will his kingdom survive? You say that I use the power of Satan to force out demons. But if I use Satan’s power to force out demons, then what power do your people use when they force out demons? So your own people will prove that you are wrong. But I use the power of God to force out
