    My Best To The Bride

    Chapter One

She had always dreamt of getting married, and when she met Patrick she knew she wanted him to be the man in her life. When he proposed to her, her heart soared, and she couldn’t have been happier about it.

They were still young; they hadn’t known each other long but they loved each other dearly, and Sharon couldn’t wait to spend the rest of her life with him.

They made many plans for their future together, and though most of those plans involved Patrick, Sharon would never complain about that. He took care of her, gave her so much, and Sharon knew that no matter what, he was going to be there for her when she needed him.

Their first night in bed after the wedding, Patrick woke up early in the morning, unable to fall back asleep. As Sharon slept peacefully beside him, he gently traced his fingers across her face, marveling at how peaceful she looked in sleep. She really didn’t look like an actress; she looked like the kind of woman you might see on TV or in magazines. He was just glad she liked his work enough to want to stay by his side through all the crazy shit his career could throw at them, even if it meant working for a few months.

    Chapter Two

As he lay there watching her, he realized something else. He knew that Sharon loved him. He loved her too, more than anything, and even though he’d thought about this moment a thousand times, it still felt surreal to think about.

It wasn’t uncommon for people in their profession to fall in love. Most famous actors in Hollywood fell in love, especially when they hit rock bottom. Many of them were happy ending marriages – some of them were happily ever afters. There weren’t a lot of people in the industry who stayed together. However, Sharon and Patrick were different. It wasn’t normal for them to have stayed together for such a long time – at least, not as long as they had.

Patrick had dated actresses before; he’d dated actors, women, men, women again; however, none of them were like Sharon. They didn’t share the same passion; they weren’t as driven or passionate as she was. She loved her work. She loved being around people, making friends. Her work was what defined her; she wouldn’t change a thing about it. If her job demanded that she put herself out there and risk getting hurt, then that’s what she did.

And yet...she still loves me. He chuckled, knowing exactly what Sharon had said last night. I love you.

He smiled down at her, taking in every single feature. Every once in a while, he remembered when things had been different between them. Back when everything was new; when they were still figuring themselves out. Then again, back then, he’d barely known her and she’d barely known him either. That’s just the way it went sometimes, he decided. He didn’t regret falling in love with Sharon, though. Not one bit.

    Chapter Three

He leaned in to kiss her softly. He couldn’t resist kissing her again, hoping it would wake her up and let them get out of bed. But Sharon remained blissfully unaware of his intentions. He pulled away from her slightly to see that she was still sleeping soundly, and smiled to himself. Maybe I should wake her up. He shook his head, deciding against it, and got out of bed instead. His body ached a little from spending the evening on stage, and he knew he had to go and take a shower before getting ready for work.

He headed into their bathroom to clean off, and changed into some loose jeans, T-shirt, and a pair of socks. After brushing his teeth and washing his face, he left the bathroom and wandered over to the bedroom, where he found Sharon sitting up in bed.

    Hey baby, he greeted her.

Sharon turned to look at him, Morning. You ready?

Yup. I’ve got plenty of time before we have to leave for the airport. So, what are your thoughts on our honeymoon destination?

Hmm. We already talked about Hawaii. Why don’t we try somewhere else?

    Like where?

I dunno...maybe Spain or Italy. You can pick.

Hm. Yeah, I don’t know...I’m kinda tired right now. How about you? What do you think?

Well, I think the last few days have been pretty exhausting. And we’ll definitely need to pack soon...but I don’t really feel like moving right now. We can go wherever.

Okay. I guess we can give it a shot, if you’re okay with that.

I am. And I’m sure my mother will understand when I explain why we’re doing something like this.

Good point. I wonder what she’ll say about us actually getting married.

Yeah. I’ve got a feeling she’ll approve of it. Especially since it looks like she has a crush on you.

Oh yeah? Patrick smirked, Does she know that you know?

    Nope. Never told her.

"Good girl. And anyway, I have no idea how I feel about that. My mom
