    The Responsible Mother

    I returned home from visiting my mother an hour ago, and I think that she has regained her confidence.  She was worried that she was losing her memory, but she seems to be okay now.

    Many of Mother’s friends are suffering from memory loss, and Mother was concerned that, perhaps, she herself was experiencing the early stage of Dementia (a non-reversible decline in mental function).

    The word Dementia is a catch-all term that includes several disorders which cause chronic memory loss, personality changes, or impaired reasoning ability.  And Alzheimer’s disease (which accounts for 60% - 80% of all Dementia sufferers) is what Mother fears the most, because Alzheimer’s sufferers eventually lose their ability to carry out even the simplest daily tasks.

    As for Mother, her mind is still sharp enough to carry out her normal daily activities without any problem, and therefore she definitely is not suffering from any
