That’s when I heard a car engine rev up. I glance up and out of my garage door. George, Donna’s husband, had just pulled out and drove off to work. To be honest, I never liked the guy the first few times I met him and talked. You see, I am a man who works with his hands; I make things from wood people find useful. George Crayfield managed accounts and ledgers for a sleazy New York City real estate company. He essentially commuted from the mountains of Northwest New Jersey into the Big Apple every day. Never I did I think I would end up having an affair his wife. She and I seemed of such different worlds – or, at least so I wrongly thought.

I looked at the black top, and then I looked at her house. My gaze shifted back and forth with indecision. Then, I realized I really didn’t have a choice. I needed to get my daughter’s top back. I needed to cross one more thing off my daughter’s shit list she had for me. Only, it seemed a little too convenient. The lonely animal inside me wanted to walk across the street. Part of me wanted desperately wanted Donna’s attention – and her willing and naked body pressed against mine -- even if she was married to an utter douche bag. Does that make me a bad man? It probably does, but in retrospect I didn’t care. I still don’t care to this day. I grabbed the shirt and shoved it into a plastic shopping bag. I marched across the street in a matter of seconds.

She must have seen me coming. The door opened only two seconds after I knocked. Donna hadn’t fully dressed for the day. Like myself, she too was wearing grey sweatpants. Only mine were baggy, and hers were skinny and tight around the curves of her thighs and calves. I tried not to look at the heft of her breasts underneath her loose white T-Shirt. Instead, I tried to look into her soft green eyes and the slightly curly blonde hair that hung in front of them.. Lifting up the shopping bag, I said, “You need to take this back before my daughter finds it and asks questions.”

She grinned slightly. “Want to come in for a cup of coffee?”

I glanced over my shoulder. “I really shouldn’t. “

Her gaze instantly became heated. “Yes, you should. Really.”

I knew it was wrong, but it was like I couldn’t control my feet. I crossed a line when I stepped over the threshold and entered another man’s home ...
