The Adventures of Frenchy the Little Red Fox and his Friends - Monica Wagner
The Disappeared Friend
Although Daisy was a year older, they got along well. Daisy was a pleasant friend, and she always played with Frenchy the fox. Daisy was a dachshund, with black and red fur, and Daisy also looked a lot like Frenchy, because when Frenchy was very small his fur was dark too.
One day Daisy was not at home. Nobody knew where she was. Frenchy's friends thought she had moved. Frenchy was completely desperate. Daisy was his best friend, he had to find her again! Frenchy started looking for her. He first searched the entire known forest. He asked his friend Hugo the wild boar if he had smelled anything like Daisy’s. But Hugo didn't know anything either. Frenchy even asked Emma the goose. Then, Emma flew over the trees, but she couldn't find Fifi either.
The next year, Frenchy was a bit older. Now he had to go to the animal school for foxes. Foxes are smart by nature, but just being smart isn't enough. Like all animals and living beings, they too have to learn. In the middle of the forest, where the forest is densest, the young foxes meet to learn from the old foxes. The young foxes sat in a semicircle and listened to what the older fox teacher had to say. Suddenly, Frenchy froze, unable to believe what he was seeing. His old friend Daisy was actually sitting there on the edge.
What are you doing here?
Frenchy asked in complete surprise.
Hello my friend
says Daisy. I am very happy to see you. I'm studying here with you.
But you're a dog,
Frenchy replied.
Daisy stood on her hind legs. Look, because I have a dark red fur now, they accepted me here at the fox school.
Frenchy gave his old girlfriend a muzzle kiss. What matters is that you are here and be accepted. It doesn't matter what you look like.
The Rescue of the Baby Owl
Not long ago there was a famous little red fox who was just called Frenchy. Why is our buddy, the fox, called Frenchy? All the animals say he’s called Frenchy because he originally came from
