Even if we know some people who will never be satisfied and other people who view satisfaction as an alien emotion that they will never experience, we all have the desire to feel contentment in our lives. On the other hand, contrary to popular belief, it is not nearly as difficult to achieve contentment as people often believe it to be, as well as a life free from desire and anxiety.
Our wants and needs are of a physical nature, but the life of fulfillment and pleasure that we seek begins in our brains.
There are a number of mental strategies that can assist you in becoming more content and satisfied with where you are in life. These mental strategies range from taming our inner critic, who always seems to push us towards lack, to learning to love yourself by controlling what goes on in your heads and hearts. Each of these mental strategies can help you become more content and satisfied with where you are in life.
It is important to emphasize this again because it is one of the primary ideas presented throughout the book: It is absolutely healthy to be content while yet having the desire and the means to continue growing, and satisfaction does not imply that stagnation is inevitable. But you can't generate abundance from lack and suffering, so in order for us to properly develop, we need to discover the happy medium of being comfortable with where we are. This will allow us to grow in a way that is healthy and
