GREETINGS

Son las 4:00 p.m. y Jack está esperando en la estación de ferrocarril de Florencia para coger su tren. La estación está llena de gente de diferentes tamaños y colores de piel; y Jack, que no está familiarizado con el lugar, se siente confundido y perdido. Se acerca a Rose, que también está esperando su tren, y comienza la siguiente conversación:

—Hmm... 20 minutos después de las 4, es decir, 20 minutos a partir de ahora— responde, echando un breve vistazo a su reloj.

—Muy bien. ¡Gracias!— Jack responde aliviado.

—¡Un placer! ¿Todo bien? — Rose pregunta, preocupada.

—Sí. Estoy bien, gracias— dice Jack con una sonrisa —¿Cómo estás? — continúa.

—¡Estoy bien! ¿De dónde eres?

—Yo soy del Reino Unido. ¿Y tú? ¿Eres de aquí?

—No— responde —No soy de aquí. Soy de Suiza. Estoy aquí por trabajo.

—¡Ah! ¡Igual que yo! ¿Dónde vives en Suiza?

—Yo vivo en Zúrich.

—¡Guau! ¡Eso es encantador! ¡Zúrich es una ciudad hermosa!

—¡Sí! ¿Has estado alguna vez en Suiza?

—Sí. Sin embargo, el año pasado visité Berna para una reunión. Nunca he estado en Zúrich— responde Jack.

—Debes visitarlo. Lo disfrutarás.

—Soy escritor. Trabajo en una editorial en Bradford. Ahora estoy viajando para conocer a algunos de nuestros clientes en Berlín, París y aquí en Florencia.

—Bien. ¿Cuánto tiempo vas a estar en Berlín?

—Dos días. ¿También vas a Berlín?"

—¡Oh, sí! Tenemos una exposición de arte allí— dice Rose.

—¿Su empresa hace las exposiciones?

I really liked reading the stories this collection had. They were entertaining, had so much variety, and the quizzes you took at the end were fun. So many new words... I understood most of the texts, though I still have trouble with the grammar and conjugation. It didn’t impede my comprehension much as I still got through with only a few bumps in the road towards the end. I can’t recommend this enough for new learners. If you looking for some good stories in Spanish, this’s definitely for you. Check it out!
