A NEW CHAPTER

We’ve been delighted that the Writing Magazine Picture Book Prize has made a difference to new writers and opened up opportunities. Over the last few years, winners have been signed with agents and acquired publishing contracts. Not only that, helpful, constructive feedback has helped to boost the confidence and skillset for our longlisted and shortlisted entrants.

So, we are absolutely over the moon to be launching another competition to help talented but unagented and unpublished children’s writers get a foot in the door: the Writing Magazine Chapter Book Prize.

What are chapter books?

Chapter books can often be overlooked, with many writers choosing to write either picture books or middle-grade. But chapter books are tremendous fun to write and a brilliant way to encourage newlyestablished,
