Shape of the Hand - Pandit V.K. Sharma
Preface
Palmistry means study of hand reading. It can be divided into two parts—Cheirognomy and Cheiromancy, the first part is related with shape of the hand, fingers, thumb, nails, hair, knots, mounts, tips, phalanges, joints, flexible and non- flexible, rigid and soft, thin and fleshy hand, etc. called cheirognomy.
The second part of the hand deals with lines on the hand called ‘Cheiromancy’. The lines, like line of fate, life, head, heart, marriage, travels, health and with other lines and marks on the hand, which indicate events in the past, present and future.
The study of Cheiromancy is incomplete without having the knowledge of the first part (Cheirognomy).
Here we will discuss the first part Cheirognomy—
Every endocrinologist (gland specialist) knows that the hand can reveal the endocrine condition of a person. They know for example that if there is an overactive Thyroid, the patient’s hand is commonly warm, moist and trembling. Whereas in Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) is usually cold, dry and rough. Dr. Flex Martin, Ibanaz, noted writer and one time professor of the New York medical college, expressed the significant of the hand in relation to harmoes by stating. The hand can indeed enable us to cast the endocrino horoscope of patient
.
Dr William Mckay Davidson says that they are the very keystones of our physical and mental make-up. It has been conclusively proved that we are tall or short, fat or thin, full of live or inert, clever or stupid, according to the function of these ‘Gland’.
The shape of the hand, shape of tips, size of palm and fingers, length of finger with each other and crooked of fine fingers, shape of the nails, knots of finger, size of phalanges, jerks in hand, shape of thumb, long and short thumb, flexible or rigid etc. all depends upon the function of these glands
