An Amazing Brazilian - Aldivan Torres
Lisbon, Portugal
February 9, 1909
A gale along with a heavy rain arrives in the city. It was the beginning of a remarkably busy day for the Silveira family. Renata Andrade Silveira and Marco André Silveira went hurriedly to the hospital because the first mentioned had severe stomach pains. Nine months pregnant, the child seemed to be wanting to come into the world.
It was the culmination of nine months of preparation for the arrival of the couple's second daughter. During pregnancy, the child danced and sang in the mother's belly. What was that child predicting? It was certainly not common for this to happen.
There, in the delivery room, were all the couple's expectations. These were intense hours of pain, anxiety and love. They were like drought in search of raindrops of hope. I explain myself. The financial issue along with some relationship problems had been facing the couple. That girl seemed to solve the problems and seal the couple's union forever.
A loud scream is heard in the hospital. Everyone is scared. Marco enters the delivery room. In his vision, he sees a beautiful and delicate girl frightened by the new environment. He takes the girl in his arms, kisses her and hugs her. He was proud of the man he was. A hardworking and warrior man. He promises yourself that you would strive to achieve your goals.
Renata Andrade Silveira
Isn't she beautiful, my love? She has a nose like yours.
Marco André Silveira
I agree. But her mouth is remarkably similar to yours. She is the perfect union between our bodies. It's a divine miracle.
Renata Andrade Silveira
What name can we give this creature?
Marco André Silveira
She will be called Adelaide Silveira.
Renata Andrade Silveira
It is a wonderful name. I feel wonderful things will happen to her.
Marco André Silveira
For sure. A child who sang and danced in his mother's belly is not common. She will certainly be a talented artist.
Renata Andrade Silveira
Even if she is not an artist, she will always be our beloved daughter. Parents should always love their children, whatever they are.
Marco André Silveira
I agree. Father and mother love must be unconditional.
Renata Andrade Silveira
Let us go home. I already feel better.
Marco André Silveira
She is well. The car is ready. I also have my commitments to keep.
The mother is discharged, and they finally leave the hospital. Now a new cycle in the life of that wonderful couple began.
baptism day
Three months after the child was born, baptism was scheduled. On the occasion, all family and friends were invited. One by one they arrived at the couple's house and filled the atmosphere with light, joy, and good vibes. One of the guests did not let go of the boy. It was the expert in white magic and spiritism, Teresa of God. She started to speak.
Teresa
Here is a child who will be a great international artist. I see paths open for this creature. I see success, joys, and emotions in your journey. She was born singing and dancing from her mother's womb. She is already a prodigy. It is a pleasure to participate in this moment so important in her life that is baptism in the Christian religion.
Marco André Silveira
Thank God, cousin. I feel happy with your words. She is a smart and fated girl. I am sure she will be happy on her walk. I will be with her encouraging and protecting. The role of a father is this.
Renata Andrade Silveira
I rejoice in it. I have taken a lot of work in her education and moral values. But I know it will be rewarding. I will strive increasingly for her to have references and the necessary comfort. She will be my pride and my love for her will be eternal.
Teresa
Glad she has you as a family base. This is critical in a child's development. You can also count on my support. I will be available for whatever you need. Many thanks to you for allowing me to participate in this especially important moment in her life.
Marco André Silveira
No need to thank, cousin. Your presence is especially important to us.
The procession proceeds to the church. A small crowd moves through the Portuguese streets. A light rain falls which proves to be a good feeling. Sung by happy songs, the group approaches the temple. The priest and witnesses wait at the entrance to the church with a bouquet of red roses.
Finally, they enter the temple, and the celebration begins.
Priest
My lord and my God, before us we have an innocent man to whom his parents have solemnly come to hand you over. I ask you, my God, protect this creature in every step. Put your angels in her path to free her from the enemy's snares. May she have a good walk on earth. May the paths of success and happiness be always present. May she be blessed in all her actions.
Everyone in the place applauds and throws holy water on the child. At that time, it was a mixed happiness and nervousness with complete surrender to God. A greater symbol of protection from all dangers. God would coordinate all her steps towards good.
Emigration to Brazil
The four members of the Silveira family were already in Porto. The couple and their two daughters. Along with them, the heavy suitcases. The reason for the sudden change was the economic crisis in Europe. The destination was Brazil, a developing country but considered by many as the country of the future.
They climbed the steps towards the ship with extreme ease. His fast and voracious thoughts were focused on a better future. Expectation transcended all his good wishes. At the end of the ship, they find an unoccupied third-class room. It would be approximately twenty days of travel across the Atlantic Ocean. It was an unimaginable adventure for those who had never moved from their city.
The first day
Renata Andrade Silveira was taking care of her daughters in her bedroom. Her husband went to help the sailors clean the ship. He did not do this out of obligation but because he liked to feel useful.
Sailor
What made you move from Portugal? You look sad to me.
Marco André Silveira
It was the fiscal crisis that ended up bankrupting my salon. The little money that is left, I am going to invest in business in Brazil. I have an obligation to maintain a good financial standard of living for my family.
Sailor
I understand. You have all my admiration. We are living in dark times. I wish you success and prosperity in the new country. You deserve.
Marco André Silveira
Thanks friend. I am going to need all the luck in the world.
The morning's work continued. It was a quiet morning full of good air. Nothing could interfere with their happiness.
Telling stories
The afternoon arrived. An agglomeration of people gathers in the center of the ship. A man named Peter Johnson, a storyteller, begins to speak:
"Jack was a great pirate of the north seas. It was famous for its looting, killing, and searching for treasure. He was simply fascinated by wealth and power. One of his reasons for coming to Rio de Janeiro was the famous treasure buried near the Sea of Angra dos Reis. An estimated amount of one
