Call Me When You're Free - PHOENIX JAMES
DEDICATION
To all who find answers
To the many questions
They didn’t know they had
To all who never noticed
The cold and the darkness
Until feeling warmth from the fire
And seeing its light flickering in
And to a young boy
Many moons ago
Who would let his mind wander
And his imagination run free
Exploring worlds within a world
And ideas not yet encountered
Thank you for your inquisitiveness
Your burning desire to understand
To make sense of all and everything
To uncover, to discover and to learn
I am who I am today because of you
I hope you find this a satisfactory effort
And that it doesn’t disappoint you
I hope you’re impressed and overjoyed.

YOUR AUTHOR
ALL OF THESE PLACES
I'm in the park again
A different park this time
I've actually decided
I've got a list
I'm going to go through
Of London parks
And I'm going to
Check them out
All of them
That I haven't visited
Kensington
And Greenwich
Are two that are
On the top
Of my list for sure
Just because I've heard
Good things about them
I've been here my whole life
Well most of it
And I haven't seen
All of these places
I think it’s terrible
People come
From other countries
Specifically
With these places
On their little map
To go to
That they're not
Going to leave
Before they go
To visit these places
And we have them right here
And we don't go to them
It's just funny to me
And sad
And out of order.
ALMOST DROWNED
I went on a school trip
To Wales
When I was about ten
I got into the swimming pool
I ended up in the deep end
I couldn’t swim
I started drowning
I went down twice
I went down the third time
They say you go up
And down
Three times
Before you drown
The last time I went down
A man pulled me up
At that moment
I was scratching at his legs
Drowning basically
I guess he realised
At that point
That I might be drowning
It was a while though
Before he actually reacted
And pulled me out
I feel if not for that
I might not be here
Right now
I always remember that
I think I’ve always
Had a little fear
Of the water
Since that time
I was ten years old
I never forget that
Wales school trip
Nearly died at ten
I'm glad I didn’t
Nearly was a goner
I stopped
Going in the water
As much
I definitely had a fear of it
I've been
In a lot deeper water since
Both literally
And figuratively.
ANKLE BRACELET APPEAL
I feel as if
All the ills
And evils
Of this world
Could be easily
Corrected
Could be easily
Put right
Could be easily
Remedied
If more women
Wore ankle bracelets
I do
I just feel
That's what's wrong
With society
I just feel
That’s the problem
It’s the answer
To everything
That is wrong
On this planet
With this world
With its people
With human beings
All the negative
That we see
It's just down to that for me
I think more women
Need to wear
Ankle bracelets
Like the old days
Bring the importance
Back to them
Like you have
At an Indian wedding
For example
Or you know
The Egyptians
Ankle bracelets
Were a big thing
Still are
Just not enough
I feel
The world of women
Need to embrace
Ankle bracelets
Anklets
I'm not talking about
Ankle chains
You know like
When someone's imprisoned
I don't mean shackles
I'm talking about jewellery
Ankle bracelets
Charms
That kind of thing
The little ones that jingle
Little pretty charms on them
Jingle jingle
That’s what I'm talking about
Gold
Silver
You know
Ankle bracelets
Anklets
I feel life will be better
I feel everybody will be happier
I feel life will be a more
Pleasant experience
If ankle bracelets are embraced
And adorned
On a regular basis
On a bigger level
Globally
We will heal a lot of the ills
Of our society
Of our communities
Of our
