About this ebook
With brutal candor, the author holds nothing back in her poetic exchanges with God. As she asks some of life's hardest questions and reveals her deepest pains, curiosities, and vulnerabilities, God responds as a dear friend and loving Father in words beaming with comfort, kindness, encouragement, and at times, gentle correction.
The poems collected in Talks with the Comforter will reassure and encourage anyone willing to admit they have wrestled with difficult questions.

You are difficult
To understand
Help me
Lead the way
Write down
Every day
What you think
And what I say
2
I’m lost and confused
Don’t leave me here
Don’t let me go
I’m with you
Don’t worry
Take My hand and I’ll show
The water isn’t
As deep
As you think
You’re not drowning
I’m teaching you
How not to sink
Until you can learn
To stand
On your feet
Stand up
Stand up
I Am the ground beneath
When you’re calm
You can hear Me
Over the waves
Trust Me
Stay with Me
I’ll show you the Way
3
I’m done with this marriage thing
It’s too hard – I’m leaving
I’ve done all I can
I’m spent and I’m empty
This isn’t at all
How I thought it would be
No one prepared me
For the hardship it’d bring
I realize it isn’t
Ideal to split
But I never should’ve gotten
Myself into this
Before you go making
A rash decision
Allow Me to give you
A quick explanation
Regardless of the circumstances
You find yourself in
If you’re not careful you’ll continue
To put blame on them
For causing you pain
For ruining
your life
Making you angry
Causing much strife
I know how you’ve been wronged
I’ve seen the burdens you’ve carried
I know the depth of the pain
But it wasn’t a mistake to get married
Listen, My child
Your focus is off
You’re focused on the problem
You’ve forgotten My love
What you’re looking for isn’t out there
You won’t find it, you won’t heal
You’re experiencing what all do
You don’t want to feel
The pain that comes with
Never finding what you crave
There’s only One Answer
It’s Me – I save
It’s mercy you need
And grace to receive
The Love that I Am
I alone can give peace
When you receive these
When you let Me love you
You can pour it out
On those around you
No matter the person
No matter the problem
Love covers all
Completely dissolves them
Let Me love you as you walk
With the one of your youth
I’ll show you what Love is
You’ll show others the Truth
That Love stays, it is hopeful
It gives mercy and grace
It is patient and kind
And always forgives
I Am here waiting
To satisfy your needs
You were made to let Me love you
Come now, be with Me
Then you can love
This is the key
Your sins have been forgiven
Now go forgive freely

There are holes in the sand
What are these holes in the sand?
That’s where clams are hiding
They’re afraid of the land
They don’t know that
