Dedication
As I ponder on whom I should dedicate this book to, so many people come to mind. It humbles me how gracious and supportive people have been throughout my life journey. It has been a quiet honor when I think about the times people have shared the secrets of their life with me, just to get a word of wisdom or a quick way to rethink their hurtful predicaments. I am humbled. I have always known that I was peculiar and unusually different. And some of the things I have said and the responses I have given to others have been just as bizarre. And yet, people never questioned me. They have always received my response with joy and confirmation. I am so grateful for the generous spirit of others.
I will never forget the first day I stood in front of a live audience. I was young, inexperienced, and unworthy. I had a huge group of professionals in Syracuse, New York, from 9 to 4 p.m. And they were waiting for me to tell them something they did not already know. At that time, I was too naïve to be afraid or intimidated by an audience of people who were twice my age. The night before the conference, I started looking for some tapes from some known motivational speakers to get some tips and ideas. I figured that was the least I could do. But as I was just about to listen to a tape, God spoke very clearly to my spirit: I will teach you, I will teach you.
I had no idea I was starting a new phase in God. The teaching and the instruction that I have learned through Him is something I can’t explain. Because of this, I dedicate everything I know to My Savior, Christ Jesus. I dedicate everything I know and everything I am going to know to Him.

Introduction
There is a special and unique energy in being a Christian. And because many of us are unaware of this, the enemy will attack our stamina and make us spiritually exhausted!
The gifts, favor, and spiritual advantages that God gives us are what the enemy uses for our demise and confusion. And the closer we get to Christ, the more we find that our blessing often becomes our curse and the very thing that impedes us! The enemy mimics the pattern of Christ. In the areas where God enhances our power, the enemy will attack. He is only interested in things that have value to us. If it has no significance to us, then it has no advantage for him.
If you don’t care about it, he can’t hurt you with it!
Christians are especially vulnerable to exhaustion.
Let me explain: Every Christian experiences a high faith at the beginning of their request, and when personal targets, questions, and challenges come, intense doubt quickly follows. If we don’t get spiritual peace with the long wait and the unknown journey that is often attached to the request, the rise and fall of our emotions that happen over and over again start weakening us spiritually, emotionally, and physically. The weariness over time turns into depression, stress, and even physical sickness. Due to the heightened emotions of our faith and the profound disappointment that often follows, our emotions tend to be much more sensitive and delicate than unbelievers’.
This book is the introduction to a new, profound way of thinking and living. You will discover how every uncomfortable habit or circumstance can easily turn into a source of spiritual power and strength. After reading this book, you will have practical and exciting tips, secrets, and new insights on how to combat and avoid the traps that have been aimed directly at you.
Chapter 1
People-Pleasing Displeases God!
If you hurt my feelings, it’s because I have allowed you to do so.
If I’m angry, it’s because I have chosen to be.
You can’t make me do anything I don’t first allow.
It’s not me fighting you; instead, it is me fighting myself.
We are fast to develop on the outside but not as quick on the inside. I am sure you are amazed how the people you first meet in high school are not much different twenty years later when you see them in the grocery store. Of course, they have physically aged and may have gained a few pounds, but their stand-out personality traits often remain the same. If they were silly in high school, they are probably still telling corny jokes today! Just the same, if they were quiet and introverted in grade school, more than likely,
