A note from the author

I’ve had this idea since 2015 – and it’s safe to say a lot has changed. What’s in your hands now is a collection of poems I’ve created over years based on my own loves, losses, hurts, and the journey for the most important thing of all: self love. Since heartbreak and hope are two ends of a great divide, I was inspired to weave in an overarching narrative with these poems that lets anyone find the stage of their heart they felt strongest. You can read this book backwards or forward, as these pieces together are designed to fit the narrative chronologically. Feeling extra gleeful? Go back first. In limbo with how you should feel after a breakup? The middle has your perfect dose of melancholy.

This collection is meant to be messy and unapologetic. There’s differing techniques, art styles, and inner darknesses I explored. But I wouldn’t want anything else to be my first self-published work.

I hope you find solace in these words and peace that you can be you – whatever your flower looks like at the moment.
