About this ebook

STRESS DISORDERS - Esoteric Meaning and Healing.

The traditional orthodox attitude with regard to the growing problem of stress has invariably been to find ways of relieving that stress by whatever means possible. Usually this has been through excessive smoking and drinking which, in the end, has served only to aggravate the problem. For Man on the Path however, the factor of stress is not something which must be eliminated at all costs, but, on the contrary is something which he must learn to thrive on, for without it he would be incapable of evolving spiritually. The problem arises when he is confronted with excessive amounts of stress which result in dis-stress.
Here, for the first time, a medical practitioner deals with the subject of stress from an esoteric viewpoint. He discusses how these stress disorders may arise and gives us practical advice as well as exercises on how to treat them.

Douglas M. Baker

Dr. Douglas M. Baker. English born and raised in South Africa has done extensive scientific research into those hinterlands of the mind which one might call psi-semantics. He graduated in the Arts & Humanities in South Africa and qualified in medicine at Sheffield University (UK) in 1964. Having taught in the East End schools of London for 10 years, he began his tour of the Western world giving lectures and seminars in Esoteric Healing, Esoteric Anatomy, Esoteric Astrology, Esoteric Psychology, Esoteric Science and Metaphysics. He, more than any other, set in motion the trends towards alternative methods of medicine which have transformed that field in Britain today. As medical advisor to the De la Warr laboratories in Oxford, he undertook research into Biomagnetism and quantum physics their effects on the human aura and dark matter, producing the book by the same name in conjunction with George de la Warr. Through the years he has given more than 15,000 lectures and attracted people from all over the world to his Esoteric Science Festivals and International Summer Schools staged in America, Canada, England, Switzerland, Italy, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. His transformative experiences during the Second World War, when twice severely wounded, set the pattern for his life long investigations into the Powers Latent in Man. His extensive esoteric writings are said to be the largest collection in the world produced by a living author. He has written over 100 books, many of which have been translated into the 9 European languages at https://www.douglasbaker.com, and his list of downloadable MP3 audio lectures available at www.douglasbaker.org, include 500 live lectures given around the world and on a vast range of subjects. He has led the field in esoteric astrology, producing with a team, his magnum opus, a Dictionary of Astrology for the 21st Century in three volumes. This is in addition to the already existing 11 volume set of books on the same subject.

    __________________________________________

    All the world's a stage,

    And all the men and women merely players:

    They have their exits and their entrances,

    And one man in his time plays many parts,

    His act being seven ages. At first the infant,

    Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms:

    Then the whining school boy, with his satchel

    And shining morning face, creeping like a snail

    Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,

    Sighing like a furnace, with a woeful balad

    Made to his mistresses' eyebrow. Then the soldier,

    Full of strange oaths, and bearded like a pard,

    Jealous in honour, sudden, and quick in quarrel

    Seeking the bubble reputation,

    Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice,

    In fair round belly and good capon lin'd,

    With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,

    Full of wise saws and modern instances;

    And so he plays his part, The sixth age shifts

    Into the lean and slipper'd pantaloon,

    With spectacles on nose and pouch on side;

    His youthful hose well sav'd, a world too wide

    For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice,

    Turning again towards childish treble, pipes

    And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,

    That ends this strange eventful history,

    Is second childishness, and mere oblivion,

    Sans tooth, sans eye, sans everything.

    1. Stress--A Dialogue with the Higher Self

    Each member of the Human Kingdom bears within himself a spark of the divine. Together, these form the Great Flame Divine, which is a real part of the consciousness of the solar Logos. That great Being permits part of his consciousness to become incarcerated in form.

    The Flame Divine is itself a force centre, a chakra in the body of a great cosmic Being. We call that stupendous Entity 'The One About Whom Naught May Be Said'. In Him, our solar system, at its etheric level, forms the heart chakra. The collective unit known as the Flame Divine exists on the highest planes interpenetrating that heart chakra of which it is a very definite component.

    Hidden Significance of the Monads

    The more practical name we give to the sparks of the divine is 'monads'. They reside in, and are the substance of the various chakras of the solar Logos. Each chakra is disseminated by one of the Seven Rays, the qualities of Life that emanate from mysterious sources in the 'dark matter' of the giant star Sirius. There is a Ray thus governing each of these groups of monads. Second Ray monads are influenced by the heart chakra of the Logos. Third Ray monads, and the author is one of these, are part of His throat chakra. Krishnamurti was also one of these monads on the Third Ray. His 'occult' name Alcyone, a star in the Pleiades, indicates this. First Ray monads are related to His head chakra, and their number, comparatively small, indicate the extent to which this centre is enlivened in the solar Logos, compared with the other two. The Ray of the monad may change in the intervening period between its putting out its mechanisms for interaction with the lower planes so that a weary traveller -- a prodigal son -- returning to the Father's
