The purpose of this inspiring book is to facilitate step-by-step unfoldment from individuality to group awareness, from unconscious activity to conscious cooperation with your Higher Self and its purpose for you, the personality.

There is for every mortal, one supreme being that is his very own, his daemon, his inner reality, his higher nature, his own Soul. Any susceptibility to limit the concept of the higher Self should be offset by a study of the "Three Great Truths" found in the introduction to this book. Study of this occult classic in "the language of the day" will provide intuitive insight to methods for unfolding the Egoic Lotus, petal by petal, until it is opened to the full beauty of its perfection.

Understanding of the Egoic Lotus, through which the Soul manifests, will bring about an eventual apprehension of the true meaning of force, and of energy in its dual aspect— internal vibration and external radiation. Comprehension of the effect of one consciousness upon another consciousness on the physical plane through the centering of the attention upon the psychical centres in subtle bodies (not the physical centres on etheric levels) will be utilised scientifically in the future to solve many world problems. Finally the laws of fire will be explained; the nature of heat, of radiation and of flame will be occultly investigated here. The writer has spent some 30 years in this field already and is a pioneer in the educational goal to teach the young to contact their own Soul or higher energy; how best they can be led to appropriate the knowledge and ability of their higher Self for use on the physical plane; how best they can ascertain their group formation, and thus work along with their group and in unison with humanity.

Dr. Douglas M. Baker. English born and raised in South Africa has done extensive scientific research into those hinterlands of the mind which one might call psi-semantics. He graduated in the Arts & Humanities in South Africa and qualified in medicine at Sheffield University (UK) in 1964. Foreword

The study of esoteric psychology requires a true conception of the Soul and its arousal to full activity. Already, there is a tremendous swing in North America and Europe away from traditional, religious or psychiatric ways of interpreting psychic phenomena and mystical experience. People receptive to inner states will no longer accept that responsibility for these mystical events must lie with God or that they be resolved on the psychiatric couch.

Far too many creative individuals incorporate qualities and experiences in their make-up that would be normally regarded as psychotic were it not for their rationality, intelligence, honesty and creativeness. In the past, such creative men and women have hidden their psychic affairs from public view or adopted a mask of artistic idiosyncracies. Now, however, the way is becoming increasingly open for investigation into these subjective worlds whereby the sound formulation of the laws of egoic unfoldment, as taught by the Masters of Ancient Wisdom down through the ages may be revealed to the seekers after Truth, Beauty and Goodness. The inner worlds have always been. They influenced the minds of men like Socrates, Pythagoras, Plato and Aesculapius in Greece and before that in Egypt, Persia, India and China. Later, after the Dark Ages, the Mysteries reached Europe and were spread unobtrusively by many esoteric groups such as 'The llluminati', Knight's Templar, the Rosicrucians, the Masons, etc. In the last hundred years, a new outpouring of the perennial Wisdom reached the West through the offices of Madame Blavatsky. Her inspirers were Masters of the Himalayas, members of the inner government of the world, and in an unbroken stream They continued to speak through Annie Besant, Alice Bailey, C. W. Leadbeater, Rudolph Steiner and others. They continued the true tradition of classical Ancient Wisdom given out in all ages by enlightened Beings. But we must not think that the subjective worlds are populated only by high intelligences, who once lived on earth.
