About this ebook

This is the personal story of Eleasha's life journey. Cancer struck Eleasha, already a recording artist, at 14 years of age, and life changed forever. But, with Eleasha's faith in God–and her parents' faith–she saw miracle after miracle as she experienced God's faithfulness in the midst of her stormy seas.
For 21 years she battled the cancer, standing on the Word of God and His promises. She continued to sing and minister– people would weep as she sang, and many were healed. At 35 years old, Eleasha went home to be with the Lord. This book recounts her legacy of love.

I am as a green olive tree in the House of God.

    Psalm 52:8

    ELEASHA’S DEDICATION

To my daughter, Hope Alexandra Wiggins—my inspiration and the reason I fight for every good thing in my life.

I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

    Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

I can’t help but reflect on my life and think how true it is when David said, Children are a blessing from The Lord (Psalm 127:3).

My daughter Hope is without a doubt the greatest blessing and REWARD God has ever given me, and I am so honored that He chose me to be her mother. I am the woman and mother I am today because of my own mom…truly grateful. I love you, Mommy, and I love you, Hope Alexandra—you are the light of my life!

Seven and a half years ago in 2007, God gave me the greatest blessing and miracle of my life. The doctors said I would never have children, but He gave me Hope! The doctors said I wouldn’t live to see her live, but God said differently!

And, here I am celebrating my little miracle, my greatest gift, my reason for fighting, my reason for never giving up!

I love you, my angel Hope, and every single day with you has been a blessing.

Things haven’t been easy for you, but you’re such a strong little girl, and you will grow up to be a mighty woman of God, bringing HOPE to dark places. I proclaim that for your life today, my daughter.

You belong to God and I’m so honored that He chose me to be your mommy.

    INTRODUCTION

I could title this introduction, How It All Began, because Eleasha’s story began as part of my story.

On March 16, 1977, I attended a prayer meeting in the basement of a Catholic church, accompanied by my father and my boyfriend at the time, George Faragi. I had been told that they performed healings at this church.

The three of us walked in and could not believe our eyes. Approximately 150 people were praying and praising the Lord with their hands raised and singing. It frightened us a little so we sat in the back just observing everyone.

I noticed a pretty young girl with the most beautiful look on her face as she worshipped the Lord. Immediately I said, Lord, whatever she has, I want it! (Later she became a very good friend and she was healed of cancer.)

That night a guest minister shared God’s Word with the people, and at the end of his message he gave an altar call for salvation. He said, If you want to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, come up here now.

I jumped up as if a stick of dynamite was under me.

I motioned for my dad and boyfriend to get up. They did, but only after I nudged them! Fourteen people responded to the altar call, and we came forward and sat down in a circle at the front of the sanctuary. We asked Jesus to forgive our sins and come into our hearts and lives that very night.

What an extraordinary night! My tears would not stop flowing because I knew that Jesus, the Holy Son of God, was standing before me. I couldn’t lift my head as I asked Him to come into my life and forgive all of my sins.

I can honestly say that I was immediately transformed from a black life of sin to worshipping and praising my Holy Jesus. He delivered me instantly from a life of sin that was leading me straight to hell.

George and my dad were also transformed by the supernatural power of God, and just a few months later George and I were immediately installed as lay leaders of that powerful prayer meeting.

Seven months after that eventful night, George and I were married, and we served God as Associate Pastors in a full-Gospel, independent Assemblies of God church for twelve years.

Together we raised our son Eric from my previous marriage, and our daughter Eleasha who was born two years after our marriage, in the fear and admonition of the Lord.

    Pastors George & Janet Faragi

Eric was just five years old when we married, and George loved him with all his heart. When Eric turned ten, George adopted him. Eleasha adored her big brother. We went to church as a family every Tuesday night, Thursday night, and Sunday morning.

One day in 1989 my husband George came to me and said while in prayer, God told him we were to move south to open our own church. God told him it was time to leave our comfort zone.

I thought he was crazy! I replied, Well, God didn’t tell me!

I immediately went to our pastor and poured out my heart about the situation. Wise man that he was, our pastor said, George hears the call and God will confirm it to you.

I thought to myself, God better confirm it to me or I’m not going anywhere.

But of course, I would do anything God had in store for our lives. I began praying for the will of God for our lives and asked God for Scriptures to confirm the move—and He did confirm it!

God did not just give me one scripture. He gave me at least thirty! The one I remember to this day says, Awake, north wind and come, south wind! Blow on my garden so its fragrance may spread everywhere. Let my beloved come into his garden and taste its choice fruits (Song of Solomon 4:16 NIV).

Wow! That one blew my mind! Upon reading all the scriptures He gave me, I could not deny what we were to do.

Our son Eric was in college at the time and he stayed in New Jersey with a family from our church. Eleasha was 12 years old and we uprooted her from her Christian school and friends. I never realized how devastating that was for her at the time. But then, there were a lot of things happening to her that I didn’t know about.

One thing I did know was that she was anointed by God and so talented in singing, composing, writing, dancing, Christian drama, and even teaching at her young age.

I knew that the devil was intimidated by her. He had tried to kill her one New Year’s Eve after a church service. A bullet came crashing through the back window of our car and through the seat where she was going to sit just before we got into the car.

When we finally settled it in our hearts what God wanted us to do concerning our move and opening a church in Florida, everything began to fall into place.

That’s how God works: Once you surrender to His plans for your life everything comes together perfectly.

We rented a beautiful home in Boynton Beach, Florida and opened the doors of our church in January 1990. We officially named it Cornerstone Christian Center. Two years later we moved the church to Boca Raton and held services there for the next 25 years.
