About this ebook

Bach Flower Remedy Repertoires – Part One.

Agrimony to Impatiens

Larch to White Chestnut

It takes several years to become familiar with the dispensing of the Bach Flower Remedies, and it is only then that the clinician becomes aware that there are always certain symptoms and signs which do not quite fit into the specific categories indicated in the traditional Bach allocations.

Some Remedies seem to overlap naturally, and others seem to require a balancing component. Still others seem to indicate chronicity, and there are even others that are suggestive of acute disorders.

By using a repertoire, we "blanket" an area of the patient's symptoms and thus more effectively reach the levels of causation. In fact, a repertoire is no less than a spectrum of treatment that can be applied to a range of symptoms that themselves form a spectrum. This is why antibiotics are found to be very effective in certain instances when they are applied as a broad spectrum to cover a range of bacteria.

Man's symptoms are very like his flora of bacteria. Remove one type of bacterium, and you have created favourable conditions for another type to appear. Similarly, we find in practice that one often deals competently with a presenting symptom only to discover that when it is disposed of, another, related to it deeply, takes its place.

We have deliberately linked the repertoires to their astrological correspondences because, from experience, we are finding that the majority of practitioners using Flower

Remedies are also intimately involved in their studies and research with astrology. Even the dispenser of Flower Remedies who is not an astrologer can quickly learn to identify the position of the planets in his patient's horoscope and through this simple knowledge; he can select and try out the appropriate repertoire.

Quite frequently a patient will telephone to describe his symptoms, and if you have the patient's horoscope, it will give you considerable helpful information in the absence of being able to observe the patient's signs.

Douglas M. Baker

Dr. Douglas M. Baker. English born and raised in South Africa has done extensive scientific research into those hinterlands of the mind which one might call psi-semantics. He graduated in the Arts & Humanities in South Africa and qualified in medicine at Sheffield University (UK) in 1964. Having taught in the East End schools of London for 10 years, he began his tour of the Western world giving lectures and seminars in Esoteric Healing, Esoteric Anatomy, Esoteric Astrology, Esoteric Psychology, Esoteric Science and Metaphysics. He, more than any other, set in motion the trends towards alternative methods of medicine which have transformed that field in Britain today. As medical advisor to the De la Warr laboratories in Oxford, he undertook research into Biomagnetism and quantum physics their effects on the human aura and dark matter, producing the book by the same name in conjunction with George de la Warr. Through the years he has given more than 15,000 lectures and attracted people from all over the world to his Esoteric Science Festivals and International Summer Schools staged in America, Canada, England, Switzerland, Italy, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. His transformative experiences during the Second World War, when twice severely wounded, set the pattern for his life long investigations into the Powers Latent in Man. His extensive esoteric writings are said to be the largest collection in the world produced by a living author. He has written over 100 books, many of which have been translated into the 9 European languages at https://www.douglasbaker.com, and his list of downloadable MP3 audio lectures available at www.douglasbaker.org, include 500 live lectures given around the world and on a vast range of subjects. He has led the field in esoteric astrology, producing with a team, his magnum opus, a Dictionary of Astrology for the 21st Century in three volumes. It was originally hoped to house all the repertoires in one book, but this has not been possible.

    AGRIMONY

AGRIMONY is the Flower Remedy for worry — the restless, tormented state of mind which is always hidden, ofttimes behind an outward cheerfulness, e.g., laughing on the outside, but crying on the inside. Since on the surface he appears to be carefree, he makes a good companion and usually has a true sense of humour. However, his mask of carefreeness only hides his inner, turbulent state of mind.

As one of the remedies for Gemini, the AGRIMONY type is peace-loving, possessing the ability to see both sides of a question, and is distressed by quarrels and arguments.

Gemini is the Sign of the natural worrier. The AGRIMONY type is the individual who has secret problems that gnaw at him continuously. Rather than inflict their troubles upon others, they often make light of their difficulties, never betraying their inner torture and anguish.

Other indications for AGRIMONY, as given by the English Master, are as follows:-

Mysophobic housewives who love everything spotless to the extent of segregating their families in parts of the house where they won't soil or contaminate what has been cleaned and polished.

Frustrated people with great potential but little chance of expressing themselves.

Almost all teenagers, at some stage of their development.

Geriatrics — very old people who have outlived their friends and relatives and who have no one to turn to. These people often have deep, secret worries and fears, frequently suicidal (CHERRY PLUM). Those facing incarceration in an old folks' home or who are already in one can be especially helped with AGRIMONY.

People on late-night shifts who just can't adjust to sleeping during the day or cope with all the aggravations of daytime noises in their attempts to rest.

The positive aspect of the AGRIMONY type is reflected in those individuals who can truly laugh at their own worries because they are fully aware of their relative unimportance. They are genuine optimists and the inveterate peacemakers.

Physical manifestations of AGRIMONY are a constant unrest which may be noticed only as fine tremors, a clawing at parts of the body, raking through the hair, fingernail biting, cigarette smoking, etc. They will also show as very unpleasant infections, spells of impotency and a susceptibility to infections of the colon, like amoebic dysentery.

In order to determine the repertoire of Remedies suitable for the AGRIMONY type, examine the horoscope to ascertain in which House Venus is found (as Venus is the ruler of Gemini). Thus, if Venus is in the First House, one of the Flower Remedies for Aries (e.g., WALNUT and CRAB APPLE) would be indicated in addition to AGRIMONY. Venus in the Second House would call for one of the Flower Remedies of Taurus (e.g., ELM and ROCK WATER), etc.

    REPERTOIRES

    VENUS IN THE FIRST :

AGRIMONY and WALNUT — For the worry that attends life changes, including puberty, menopause, change of job. divorce, etc.

AGRIMONY and CRAB APPLE - Mysophobia. Worry about not being clean, inwardly and outwardly.

    VENUS IN THE SECOND :

AGRIMONY and ELM — Worry and momentary doubt of one's abilities due to sudden overwhelming responsibilities.

AGRIMONY and ROCK WATER Worry and self repression of inflexible and strongly opinionated individuals.

    VENUS IN THE THIRD :

AGRIMONY and WA TER VIOLET — Worry and tension accompanied by physical stiffness, for the aloof.

    VENUS IN THE FOURTH :

AGRIMONY and PINE — Worry and feelings of guilt and self-condemnation, especially for those who are overly conscientious.

    VENUS IN THE FIFTH :
