About this ebook
When we're young, every bit of lust feels like love and every moment feels like it's going to last forever.
It's when we grow up that we realize our memories aren't as clear as we thought they were.
And soon, they damn us into being broken. So how do we heal?

Memories of the Broken and Damned - M Leigh Morhaime
Tale
It’s a tale too often told
It’s a rhyme that can’t grow old
It’s the beat of a drum
Mirroring my aching heart
Rose
Like a rose
You have such beauty
But you set
A barrier of thorns
To where no one
Can break through
So one by one
I’ll break them off
And come on through
To live in your petals.
Dear Heart
Dear Heart
There’s someone
On the other side
So please stay
Strong for me
Please don’t shatter
Again
Don’t hide away
Please allow me
To love
Even if only
For a short time.
Stolen Heart
You stole my heart
But I let you keep it
You stole my words
So I can’t express
How deeply in love
With you that I am.
In your arms
I’ll lay in your arms tonight
And you’ll hold me tight
When dusk ceases
And dawn peaks
We’ll go our separate ways
And lie to the faces
We’ll go miles apart
And be different
From who we really are
Saving for when we’re alone
When we lay together
We’ll stare at the stars
In each other’s arms
Only the Dark
Its only in the dark
That your warmth
Can touch me
Its only in the dark
That we have comfort
Within each other
Its only in the dark
That I dream and ache
For the light to seep in
Send Me
Send me into your arms tonight
Send me all the love you have inside
Send me on into the stars
We can travel together far away
And never will we worry about
What others whisper against our backs
We can set our own pace
We can live our own dreams
And love each other endlessly
But when we wake up tomorrow
Back to our reality we fall
Back into the coldness of others
You fall into your own routine
And I fall into mine
We set off—alone.
Shielded Hope
I see you sitting there
So close yet so far away
I reach for you
Yet you carry a shield
I pound upon it
Trying to break through
Dents reveal themselves
Yet there are no cracks
I’ve let my guard down
Cast aside my barriers
Yet you cannot
I can’t let go of hope
For I’m holding this shred
For both of us
The Best of Me
Why do I let my emotions
Get the best of me
Why can’t I just leave
Good enough alone
Why must I always
Try to find a solution
Even when there isn’t one
Why must I
