About this ebook

The book is an invitation to join harbingers of the Holistic Life Awareness.
All there is, is but one thing: Life. All inside and outside, above and below, in the water, air or ground, in the sky is Life. One Life.

Universal Principles, unlike values, are objective and internal- innate. The principles are not an invention, but immutable laws of the Universe applied to human Life. That realisation brings us to Holistic Life Awareness, our true nature, our Spirituality. Being a Spiritual person is not the same as being a religious person. One can be spiritual without following any specific religion. Awareness of Oneness of Life and Kinship makes every separation the Life opposing ideas.

The book presents the way of applying Holistic Awareness in business and as the best healing practice. As everything starts with a thought, the book offers a Thought Replacement Station to replace harmful for beneficial. Our thoughts create our feelings dictating our actions, which become our life experiences.

Holistic Life Awareness: The Pathway to Heaven Here and Now
Author

Dragisa Doug Jovanovic

The author has a unique pathway of life realisation. With living experience in Europe, Australia and Asia (primarily Vietnam), he gains rear aptitude to testify about life similarities and universal kinship. Without any sensational life-changing event, his ability to decode Universal messages and follow the “call” grew with his willingness to listen in silence. Soon he realised that reality lies beyond a veil of form and that we all are a part of the undivided wholeness of life. He realised that we are interconnected and interdependent and that any relationship among us other than loving care is contrary to Life and self-distractive. The Holistic Life Awareness is the product of such a state of mind. Since he is not a Preacher, Massijah, Guru or Master of any religion, but an ordinary man, he hopes his message will reach the hearts of ordinary brothers and sisters and their children.

    PREFACE

This is a journey to the higher realm where from heaven is attainable.

This is my own story of growth and searches for life awareness. I am guided by the message from A Course In Miracles that says:

Your words should reflect only mercy because that is what you have received, and that is what you should give.

Nothing particularly unusual, such as a near-death experience or sudden awakening of any description, had happened to me. I may have been a good student who didn’t repeat many lessons but learned and proceeded to the next task in life. Conventional behaviour and norms were never comfortable to me, so I looked for freedom and self-recognition. For a good part of the journey, it looked like the ego was the way of self-expression, but now I can laugh at that. The ego is the master of conflict and prince of death.

I have never been an easy to please customer, as I always had questions, though searching for answers was not always simple and easy. The deeper I dived into spirituality, the more I became satisfied with the answers I found there. I studied all major religions and learned the roots of their teachings from the scriptures, teachers and masters. To my pleasant surprise, I found fundamental closeness and a single source in all. That awareness fortified my orientation to spirituality as one all-inclusive approach. I prefer the universality of spirituality to separation by institualisation of religions.

The ideas expressed in the book were acquired along the way as my own lessons or accepted truth offered by others. I hope you, the reader, may find some aid to lighten your own path to a prosperous and harmonious life on earth. Human life is an incredible adventure we are experiencing, always connected and unseparated from the Creator.

I outlined my views in Pat I Realisation and Part II Application. Realisation answers the question, WHY? Why do things happen, and why should I do anything about it? Why is that important to me, my life? The Realisation leads us to understand the significance of Holistic Life Awareness. Grounded in that foundation, we can see life holistically and are equipped to change what needs to be changed for the better. In the Application part, we apply the wisdom that comes from realisation and newborn awareness into daily life. In that part, we answer the question HOW? For a productive action, we need to clearly answer those two questions. I have no doubt that there will be many more applications once life is considered holistically as one and only life. The whole book is an initiation for the development of individual holistic awareness. Once we are changed, the change we want in our environment will have fertile ground to eventuate.

We are on the path to heaven, our final destination, where our home is waiting for us. All tools and vehicles are at our disposal to overcome all obstacles and crossroads that will appear on the path. Help and support will always come from the Universal Source, from love. No matter what obstacles or undesirable circumstances cross our way, the solution is always there. There are no obstacles or unwanted circumstances for Universal Mind, and we are part of it. Once aware of that, we are free. Everything we call problems comes from a lack of awareness of that truth and acceptance of illusion. The source of illusion is in the presence of fear and ignorance and is expressed as an ego. The root of this is the lack of awareness of our true nature. Since we have free will to choose and to follow the thoughts that, what we choose, become our experience. When we falsely accept a thought of separation from the Source of all, God, the ego appears as a guide. Guided by ego, our existence is our own concern unrelated to others and life as one and whole. The unknown is perceived as dangerous, change is often an unwanted event, and repeating the same old and same old becomes a safe choice. The ego is a fearful, body-centred path that leads to death. The ego exists to guide sleeping, unaware and ignorant minds. As opposed to the ego, the path of Divine Source, rooted in love, leads to eternity. It’s the pathway to heaven. Would not it then be obvious what direction to follow?

Since the supreme power of God makes all things move, why should we constantly worry ourselves with thoughts as to what should be done and how, and what should not be done and how not?

    —Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi

As an individual and a collective, even under the strong influence of business interests, we as a global family need to follow and apply universal wisdom, which is also a logical option if we choose to experience heaven on earth.

Once we become aware of nonbeneficial trends in our environment, we, as intelligent creatures, should do all it takes to cease such a trend. Awareness is a precondition for an action; Now I know. From now on, I will do differently. It would be just a logical statement.

The book examines how we think and react to inner and outer influences. Awareness of reality brings light to the dark corners of our unexamined ideas, dogmas, and blind beliefs. The light comes once we handle life with the holistic awareness of one and only truth. Attaining heaven on earth becomes possible based on universal principles instead of localised values.

I invite you to proudly join harbingers of the holistic life awareness.

    PART I

    Realisation

    CHAPTER 1

    Life—The Journey That Never

    Starts and Never Ends

Where does the story of the journey that never starts begin? How to describe the vast and indescribable—something so immense that no imagination can capture? It’s expressed in one word: life.

However, it seems there are two kinds of life we perceive. One is the life of all and everything around us. The other is the life we know as our own, our experience of all around us. Wouldn’t that be true?

For many years, this was my best understanding of life, my life, and outside life. It took years of maturing and unlearning to comprehend that coexistence in different ways and as it is.

As mentioned earlier, I didn’t have a near-death experience or another kind of sudden awakening. I just grew into realisation and awakening. I didn’t accept conventional explanations, always asking questions, but I didn’t find many who would give me satisfactory answers. So I decided to search for myself. And it kept coming down as intuitive knowing and bliss of realisation. Much knowledge comes from the books I read, from the silence in loneliness I enjoyed, and from meditations that I do regularly. In my case, the saying When a student’s ready, a teacher will appear proves to be accurate. Many realisations came in many ways.

Since I became open to a spiritual understanding of life, I realised that my life is an integral part of overall life, just as a drop of water is part of the ocean. I realised that I have an experience called individual life from time to time. Just as a drop in the ocean on the wave’s crest has a brief experience of separation from the ocean—a moment of self-realisation and perception of singularity, so do I have in my earthly life experience. For the sanity of the drop or us as individuals, there is only a short I am moment just before reunion with that happens when we become one with what is.

In an ancient story in a conversation with Higher Power, Abraham (the common patriarch of the Abrahamic religions, including Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) asked, When people ask who am I listening to and following, What should I say? What is your name? Who are you? The answer came: I am that I am.

If the drop, or an individual, insisted on staying separated longer as I, me, and myself, it would end up dying in that form and going into the next cycle of water—or life. Isn’t that called reincarnation? Try again. Think again. Go in one more circle.

It seems that we keep popping out and staying separated many, many times, all until we learn that the safest place is deep in the father’s mother’s core. At home, in union with that what is.

So, I realised and concluded that all there is, is but one thing: life. All that’s inside and outside, all that is above and below, in the water, air, ground, or in the sky, is life. All that the sun is, and planets are, and all the pulsating space between; all the stars, the galaxies, and the whole Universe is but one thing: life. One life.

Life always was and always will be, without beginning and end. The question of birth requires an answer to its death. Whatever begins at a certain point has to end at the other point. Once we establish one point of duality, the other has to exist.

That is supposed to hold the truth for life understood as birth and death of physical matter. But even then, it’s not accurate. Physical matter, by its nature, goes through never-ending growth, maturity, decay, and transformation cycles. All physical matter is held in the palm of a hand of a nonphysical vibrating field of life. As it is in an atom, so it is in the Universe. It’s in our body in a tomato, so it’s in the rock. On the kitchen table, it is, as it’s in the food we eat on it. So it is in the stone, chisel, and sculptor. Yet they do look different. And how could they not when they are coming from Divine Source and its universe, the field of infinite possibility?

Imagine how each throw of billions of dice gives a different score every time. The dice are in many different colours to make the game of life even more exciting. Add to that countless frequency vibrations in the energy field. All of that gives us another form, another perception of things, another life form.

Being created in an endless number of combinations, life gives rise to an infinite number of expressions. Therefore, there is no different life but only a different perception of its appearance.

We create bodies and things around us by perceiving life as a form, but we are missing to perceive the wholeness of life. We can’t see the whole of that. What we see with our eyes is in the field of perceived life energy and life-creative expression. Therefore, this world is created by us, where we are interconnected and consequently interdependent.

Not perceiving (to be aware of) the whole energy field while perceiving (seeing) tangible objects would describe the difference between pumpkin soup or tomato soup without mentioning water. Why is that? Even though the tomato soup is one tomato in a thousand litres of water, we recognise only what we can sense. But senses are not enough. They operate by sending a signal from the sensitive area like the tongue, skin, ear, eyes, or nose to the brain. The brain knows only the experience and, based on that, detects and defines the sensation.

Profound knowledge is beyond the mind. Awareness comes from a higher elevation, from above.

Inside an atom and the universe is the same ratio concerning the matter and space between. That enormous space must have an equally important significance. That space, field, or life-giving environment is vitally important. Even when the Big Bang is concerned, the beginning has to happen somewhere. And that somewhere is unavoidable space and, in it, always present life. That space or field is far from empty, as it has been thought. It’s full of vibrant energy correlating with all around itself. It’s a field of creation and a vital substance of it. In that ever-existing space, all have been born and reborn forever connected with everything else there is.

That is how I realised and can describe no beginning for something that always was, is, and forever will be; that simply is.

    Earthly Life Expressions

I know that I have never been disconnected, but I wasn’t aware of my connection to the Divine Source for a long time. We are never separated; only we may or may not be aware of a connection.

The first time I knew the Divine intervened in my life was when I was around five years old. We lived at the top of a downhill street that turned into a slope for sledding during snowy winter days. We had an excellent sled, but it was a bit big for my age. After school, my older brother and I would go the sled slope. But that day, I couldn’t wait. Even though the sled was too big for me, I managed to go downhill excitedly. Once down, getting the sled back to the top of the hill for the next go became an issue. Many other boys had smaller sleds, but some none at all. One teenage boy with no sleds of his own offered to go with me. That was a relief.

We went down the slope faster than anybody else, so quickly that we couldn’t stop at the end of our street, which flowed into the main road. Those days there was not much traffic on the road. But at the time we appeared, there was a truck in front of us. We had no chance to stop, so we ended up under the truck, between front and back wheels. Luckily, the truck was moving slowly, and the driver stopped before running over us. We were so scared that we left the sled and ran away before facing the driver. The sled ended up on the truck, which meant my father would know everything after work that afternoon. One more reason to worry.

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be a reality; let things naturally flow forward and the way they like.

    —Lao Tzu

When it comes to life expressions on Earth, the field of possibilities is enormous. Wherever is a tiny fragment of matter, compressed energy, the intelligence in the field, there is life. It’s a description of an atom. Atoms and their subatomic particles are building blocks of life. By grouping atoms into molecules, life creates billions of expressions from paramecium to lion, from a stone to a banana, from dust to humans, from air we breathe to the ozone layer that protects us, and so on.
