    Introduction

Dispelling the Clouds—Sunlight breaking through the Clouds!

A personal story, so tender yet terrifying tale of trust, illness, heartbreak (yet harrowing)and happiness written for Bikkur cholim Stamford hill. As told to Mindi Eiger.

This is the beginning of a personal story tale; of a maiden damsel so beautiful and bold with a brain tumour .

    Brain Reflections And Recovery

Now blessedly almost free out of pain.

Look see reflect what there is to gain

    Thank god no more iv catheter, oxygen mask brain tubing or drain;

Feeling better and better every day in the main!

Thank you really everyone all for life anew,

For being part of a fantastic team just in time for the autumn dew,

Only gratitude for seeing me all the way all the way through,

From family friends experts doctors nurses and registrars and all including Mathew too.

Good news and timing for the new year.

Here is looking ahead together close with those dear,

Including all who travelled to see me both far and near (including those who brought up the rear)

Those who came in in sympathy and courage now the time has past to shed a tear- pushing aside moving away from the fear.

Right, have to hand it to you- an eight hour operation successfully done ,

That is even coming to a close , a brain tumour battle up to us fought and won,

Now it’s time to celebrate with a thanksgiving and time spent in the sun.

Looking forward to a bright future with children, chocolate, and fun!!

What happens next-well we just have to sit back relax - and wait and see.-

Now it’s time for the festivals all including the apple dipped from the sweet honey bee,

Awaiting the new year when the leaves start to fall off every single tree.

Looking forward to prayers, hopes speedily fulfilled soon in the future;- (everyone) all you and me!!

Very happy thanks to staff there, to be seizure and radiotherapy free

Waking up from brain tumour surgery just a while in time for chicken soup and English tea.

Time for exercises and physiotherapy to help remove numbness from my left leg foot and knee,

Here is hoping that recovery is smooth quick and easy post and pre.

    Headache . Heartbreak.Hospital

These three words spelt out my destiny not fate for almost seven years since the incidental finding in 2011.

It all began with a simple innocous innocent headache and ended with has heartbreak at the hospital after diagnoses.

It was a long ongoing saga; beginning with the loss of complex head scans; to resultant brain surgery, subsequent successful radiotherapy(and all that meant)and now chemotherapy.

Hope for healing-something had upon meeting with consultant(Dr Jeremy Rees) neurologist and firstly fellow neurosurgeon Neil Kitchen ‘hero of the hour’ who would operate and perform brain surgery to take out the low grade benign glioma in medical speak aka brain tumour. At the famed Royal National Hospital for Neurology and neurosurgery Queens Square in August /Av 2017 in an operation that lasted a record seven hours.

Meeting my consultant neurologist(Dr Rees)was like a breath of fresh air amongst the morass of medical madness. He sat with my parents and I many a time ex plaining complex medical terminology like he had all the time in the world. For being just a phone call, an email away, for fitting me in for emergency appointments and scans; for giving of your time so devotedly. Thank you for everything for being the Messenger that the Doctor of all Doctors sent me at the right time.

Thank you to all those at the Royal National Hospital for Neurology and neurosurgery for carrying out the operation so expertly with excellent experience and also supporting me over the difficult months diagnoses, operation and still now.

To those that prayed -Challa made Psalms said over surgery time and now. I am truly grateful. Prayer is the Jewish people’s battle cry and strength in all situations. Our response is to cry out and proclaim Shema Yisroel. Indeed that is what I was doing the first scan!I lay there petrified, frantically praying;not knowing what to expect; crying out ‘Shema Yisrael’ Almighty hear my cry;soaring up;piercing the skies in pain. The radiographer could not take pictures I was moving so much.I know that others have done the same so when faced with similar circumstances and situations.

Doctors are only the messenger. He Above is the true Healer we must remember always, be it visiting the doctor, a sprain or tending a tiny wound even taking antibiotics or something stronger.(Indeed we or some
