ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
To all those suffering from illness, I send my love and compassion. My own experience does not automatically put me on intimate terms with yours. But I know that it is difficult, heart breaking, lonely and painful.
I would like to especially acknowledge all the sufferers of SLE out there, and those suffering with the more unmanageable forms of Dystonia, whose lives have been so devastated by these terrible diseases. I deeply appreciate your anguish and hope that in some small way this book can bring a glimmer of hope. You are always in my thoughts, as a true family would be. Remember that there are such things as remissions and even cures. Declare daily what you want for yourself as though you already have it!
For those who were there for me – my wonderful family, friends and colleagues I extend my deepest gratitude. You know who you are.
To Ann – my friend and Paediatric Neurologist extraordinaire! Thank you. I feel so lucky, that in my lifetime Science has progressed so rapidly that this one life was first saved, and then changed in so many deeply profound ways. And this is because of compassionate, dedicated professionals like you. I will say a prayer every day as you have asked me to do, that you get the very best outcomes possible for your patients. You have already changed so many lives, and I am sure you will continue to miraculously change many more as
