About this ebook
What is "Divas of the Deepest Chocolate"?
A collection of memories and wishes brought about by seeing and knowing some of the best and most beautiful avatars of melanin-rich magnificence to grace this earth.
Have you ever taken notice of the soft, delicious glow of a chocolate bar left too long in a car during summertime?
Or perhaps the way a candy Easter Bunny gets "all over everything" if held too long between bites? All chocolatey and messy, but tasty and fantastic.
I remember how unwilling I was to stop until all that sweet, brown goodness had ben fully enjoyed.
This collection is filled with those type remembrances and the feelings they evoke.

Divas of the Deepest Chocolate - Ned Williams
THIS MAN’S PREFERENCE
IS A CHOCOLATE WOMAN
THERE IS NOTHING LIKE A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN
AND I LOVE TO SEE BEAUTIFUL WOMEN
IN ALL THE VARIOUS AND FANTASTIC SHADES
IN WHICH GOD HAS SEEN FIT TO PRESENT THEM TO THE WORLD
I FIND JOY IN THE CINNAMON REDS
I TAKE PLEASURE IN THE SIGHT OF THE PECAN TANS
AND I SMILE WHEN I SEE THE SOFT BUTTER-CREMES-ON-SILK
WHO REMIND ME OF PERFECTLY SPICED, FRESHLY WHIPPED EGG NOG
ALL WOMEN MOVE ME
BUT THE CHOCOLATES,
YES, LORD!!!
ARE A WHOLE NOTHER THING
THOSE DIVAS OF THE DEEPEST CHOCOLATE
HAVE ALWAYS BEEN MY THING
THEY SET ME OFF
GET ME GOING
CORRAL MY ATTENTION
AND MAKE ME,
OH SO GLAD TO BE A MAN!
From The Heart of A Man
The words that follow live in and come from the heart of a man.
Not just any man, but this man, the one who just had to tell you these things:
I love you. I really do.
I’d endanger myself to keep harm away from you.
I will decrease my portions,
Curb the size of my wants,
Take time from my hobbies,
Speak my thoughts more than just once.
I will tell you often,
with heartfelt words,
the truth of what you mean to my life.
With sugared words, I’ll voice my dislikes.
No harsh verbiage hurled like the point of a knife.
I’ll answer your questions; consider your fears.
Even if you’re at fault, I’ll soothe you then dry your tears.
I promise I will treat you gently,
Careful in touch though firm.
I promise I will pay attention.
I will learn the truth of you as a woman.
I will take what is freely given. I will give of myself.
I’ll show myself as a man.
I will do my level best.
As only one who is in love can.
I hope you can feel what I’ve said.
This is from the heart of a man.
The Sweetness of Blackberries:
In
Praise
Of My
Tar Baby
MY CHILDHOOD HOLDOVER
I LOVE BLACKBERRIES.
I ALWAYS HAVE.
NOTHING LIKE GATHERING THEM
AND EATING THEM
AT THE HEIGHT OF THEIR SEASON.
FRESH FROM THE BUSH,
RIPE AND READY TO BURST,
AT THEIR JUICY, SWOLLEN FULLEST.
LOVE EM MOST WHEN THEY’RE THAT DEEP, DARK, DELICIOUS,
PURPLY BLACK COLOR
THAT PULLS YOUR EYES STRAIGHT TO THEM
AS THEY TEMPT YOU TO HAVE JUST ONE TASTE
AND LOSE YOURSELF IN THEIR UNEQUALLED,
TONGUE PLEASING GOODNESS.
FROM THE VERY FIRST BITE
SWEET JUICE EXPLODES LIKE THE NECTAR OF THE GODS.
FILLING MY MOUTH,
STAINING MY FINGERS,
SEEPING PAST MY LIPS,
AND LEAVING ME WITH THE TASTE OF SUBLIME SATISFACTION.
I’VE HEARD IT MY WHOLE LIFE. YET, I DID NOT UNDERSTAND UNTIL NOW THAT LESSONS I LEARNED DURING SUMMERS AS A CHILD WALKING THE WOODS OF SCREVEN COUNTY COULD CARRY OVER INTO MY ADULT LIFE.
IT IS GOOD TO KNOW THAT A THING I LOVED IN MY CHILDHOOD CAN STILL RING TRUE
AND STILL HOLD ITS PLACE IN MY HEART AFTER I HAVE BECOME A MAN
I NEVER KNEW AS A CHILD THAT I WOULD ONE DAY DESCRIBE AND YEARN FOR A WOMAN THE WAY THAT I ONCE DID THE WILD-GROWING FRUITS OF MY CHILDHOOD PLAYLANDS.
BUT I DO NOW. AND I AM SO VERY GLAD THAT SOMETHING I’VE HEARD USED AS A DEFENSE MECHANISM; HAS BEEN CLEARLY PROVEN TO THE ADULT ME AS A HAND -TO-THE-LORD
