Born and raised in mid western small town then of about 3,000 during the hard times of the 30s depression by a factory worker parent and stay at home mom who provided wonderfully for 5 children. Les was the eldest, after completing 12 years of school and 4 credits of extended learning was drafted into the Custers Gerry Owen 7th Cav. Regt. (Army) and served 2 years in Japan. Returning home to the heavy construction field he left before service he retired after working in mechanics, welding and equipment operator, and instructor teacher in his labor union. Forced an early retirement for health causes he was motivated by childhood memories and a liking of poetry started sharing poems with friends who suggested they be saved to a book which is shared for you.
