About this ebook

Tenth Book - Champaign No Pain

Ten books, can you imagine! For me, it’s more than a dream who becomes reality.
I feel happy with this accomplishment and I certainly hope that you, my faithful readers, will also enjoy this newest book. In my opinion, every book is getting better, every time again.
I can say, that no changes have been made to the arrangements of the poems, they are still written in my own familiar style. As always some new ideas came into my mind, some other perspectives, you can maybe call it, some kind of try outs.
Every year brings other items to the front of my brain, to draw the conclusion, if you like my previous books, then you will certainly like this tenth one also.
Xlibris has been the publisher of this ‘Champaign No Pain’, that is also my tenth book with Xlibris.

Dirk De Bock

I was born the 4th of January in 1958. I became interested in writing, not just writing, ‘cause writing a book is only one story. I wanted to create, make new stories, over and over again. So I started writing poetry, not just a few lines but in a way nobody else does. A whole page with a whole new story. In a simple manner, poetry for everybody, where one doesn’t need a dictionary to understand, feel and recognize what the poem is about. Everywhere I was, just started writing a few lines on a piece of paper or on a beermat. Sometimes these lines came easy, sometimes it took me many weeks to complete a poem.

    A Fine Day

    44170.png

Oh God yes, I like to walk

    through the fields of clover

    sometimes I hear myself talk

go man, do it, over and over

especially on a nice sunny day

one can get ideas in his head

to write them down, all the way

I could do this, until I’m dead

Oh yes, it’s such a fine day

I want to do it my own way

because I’m feeling glad all over

in them colored fields of clover

Many other people look so fine

they also like to walk them paths

to see the distance, all in one line

many of us are wearing their hats

rain, is always welcome at night

to make them plants shine bright

during the day at our usual walks

our silly smiles and our daily talks

Oh yes, it’s such a fine day

in this place, I want to stay

I’m going to do it everytime

    lying down under a silverpine

Walking under the trees in the shade

‘cause the sun can be as sharp as a blade

now I’m having a place to sit down

afterwards, it’s time to go back to town

these great days, should last and last

while I undertake many larger walks

they will be fine memories from the past

many years later going through the parks

    You’re Going To

    44170.png

You’re going to let me know

the deepest love in my aching heart

how can anybody let this feeling go

our passion is our only joker card

The past is gone, she died before my eyes

that’s why I can’t live for today anymore

we didn’t drive too fast on that slippery ice

still a tragic end came for us, forever sure

You’re going to let me touch

the very soul of our own humanity

never thought one needed it so much

    floating in between without gravity

That night was, as they say, a hit and run

a speeding vehicle from out of the blue

I stayed alive, although this was not fun

thinking about that good woman with you

You’re going to let me see

the greatest white wings in heaven

and than you say that I owe to be

thinking of that lucky number seven

Today I feel so very much enlighted

like possessing all that power in me

it feels so great, I’m not even frightened

is this true or not, this really has to be

    You’re going to let
