The crisp evening air was blowing across Tara’s cheeks as she made her way down the familiar street heading to the corner, the very first corner she had met him for the first time. She could smell the damp earth, a sure sign that it was going to rain. The smell always reminded her of her parent’s home back in Texas. She hastened her steps as she felt the first rain drop on her nose. She had to get there before the skies decided to open and empty their vengeance on her. When she got to the corner of fourteenth and eighth, she took a moment and took a long deep breath before she walked into The Mug. She quickly looked around the café, trying to locate him, her reason for being. But she could not see him. Her spirit dampened, she turned around and opened the door before she stepped out of the café.
