The Rocker's Gold Digger - Micah Jay Murphy

    Prologue

Shawn Kinderson hated being poor. He hated being treated as less than human as well, but that’s all you were treated as when you were an orphan, at least in his experience. He heard the rumors and knew the speculations that followed him, but they weren’t true.  At sixteen years old, he barely managed to stay in school having been kicked out of his most recent foster home because he was gay.

His homophobic foster father had been furious when he had caught him and another boy, Matthew, making out in his room. His foster father hadn’t even bothered to call his social worker before kicking him out. He doubted his foster family would even notify anyone of this most recent development. This family was the worst family he had been with. Well many of the others had been homophobic at least they were decent, this one? Not so much.  They treated him like a third class citizen. Sick? Too bad. Need a doctor? Suffer. This wasn’t any different.

He doubted he’d continue being able to go to school, it had already been about two weeks since that diabolical episode. He shivered under the rain as he stood on the street corner in the shady and run down part of the city advertising the only thing he had in hopes of being paid immediately and enough to cover his expenses, himself. Oh, he was pretty, there was no doubt; with his emerald green eyes, jet black hair and a small and delicate stature that always called in perverts it was obvious. The fact he looked younger than his age was a bonus for creeps and wasn’t it ironic that the creeps he once avoided like the plague were the ones he had to rely on? In that moment of frustration, shame and anger, he promised himself he would be rich one day, that he would overcome these circumstances and that he would not become a statistic.

A black limousine pulled up beside the curve nearest him, the window rolled down and a man with peppered black hair leaned out the window, Climb in kid, I’ve plans for you. Shawn didn’t ask any questions. The limousine spoke volumes. He approached the vehicle, opened the door and climbed in without a word. That’s how he began his work as a prostitute.

DARNELL HAD FINISHED performing at one of the venues in the local area near his penthouse. It had been one of the first things he had bought when he had received his first payment from his music company. It was warm and cozy, just the way he liked. Soft yellows painted the kitchen and brightened it. The living room was cream white, and the bedrooms were painted a light sky blue. The floor looked woodened, but in reality, it was a floating floor.

Darnell stretched as he took in a deep breath of air. He could smell dinner cooking in the oven. That was a surprise, Alister Langly, the man he had fallen hard for, wasn’t supposed to be home until later tonight. Oh well, it made no difference. It was a lovely surprise.

He yanked his shirt from his sweat dried body and walked to his room. He stopped just outside his door when he heard grunts and moans coming from his room. If Darnell hadn’t been famous, he would have marched in and thrown both men out after beating the shit out of them.

Instead, he went to the bar in the living room and filled up a flute glass with some non-alcoholic wine. Taking a seat on the couch, he crossed his legs, one on top of the other and waited.

He didn’t have long to wait long. A mocha colored man was coming down the hall with Alister clinging to him. Both men were naked.  Darnell pulled his phone from his pants pocket and turned the recording button on, he aimed it at them. They were so wrapped up in each other they were almost through the living room and to the kitchen before Darnell said anything.

Well, honey I’m home. It looks like I’m not the only one though.

    Darnell, honey, I can expla-

Explain what? That you’re fucking one of the rodies?

    Baby, I’m not-

Can it Alister. I’ve been sitting here the last ten minutes. Why?

Alisters face turned ugly, I didn’t do anything wrong!

Darnell’s eyes pinned the stranger, How was he? How long was this going on?

Hey man, this was a onetime thing. He said he was in an open relationship. I can tell you it wasn’t the first time. I saw him with other men and many of them talked about fucking your boy toy. I figured with all the talking and seeing him approach a majority of them, it must be true. Sorry man.

Thanks for being honest. You can keep your job. Go get dressed and please escort yourself out.

Hard eyes looked at Alister, whose face was turning an angry red color. "I gave you everything Alister. I gave you a home, a place to stay. I supplied your basic necessities. I trusted you so much; I even gave you an extravagant allowance. I hope you have plenty of it put up, because your ass is leaving tonight.

Alister fluttered his eyes tears leaking from them. Darnell had been with Alister long enough to know the difference between his crocodile tears and his real tears, Please Darnell...

Nope, pack up and get out. Don’t make me call security.

Alister screeched, stomped his foot, curled his hands into fists and launched himself at Darnell. Darnell captured it all on video as he moved out of the way. Darnell calmly went to the penthouse phone on the bar. Never taking his eyes from Alister, he called down stairs, "Yes this is Darnell, I need security up at the penthouse to escort my ex-boyfriend from the perimeter. Get his new address when he leaves. I’ll have his things packed up and moved to his new location.

That was the day Darnell’s life changed, the experience turning him cynical.  A short time later, after packing up Alisters things, he moved.

    Chapter One

Shawn sat at the desk in his dorm room that he shared with three other men. He was slouched over his book, barely keeping his blurry eyes open. He had to study for tomorrow’s test for his paralegal class. He also had a date planned with his newest wealthy boyfriend after class. Just then he felt a small hand rest between his shoulder blades pulling him out of his temporary enslavement of studying. Looking up, he noticed it was Leota, her generous red lips curved upwards into a smile as her baby blue eyes seemed to dance with merriment as if laughing at him; her skin was a soft peaches-and-cream color.

Hey Shawn, you’re still planning to take me to my cousin's wedding this weekend, right?

He blinked a few more times, then covering his mouth, he yawned, Mmhmm, of course Leota, I wouldn’t let you hang like that girlfriend.

You’re such a twink Shawn, she said laughingly as she ruffled his hair affectionately.

What are you doing here anyway Leota? You’re not supposed to be in the boy’s dorm after hours.

She snorted in a very unladylike manner, Please, we both know I have sneaking skills that many would kill for, I did learn from the best.

And I regret it every day, Shawn said drily.

Leota made a face at him, C’mon, let’s go out and get a few drinks.

Leota you know I can’t afford that. I barely make enough to cover everything as it stands.

Well he let her believe he was working, honorable low class jobs, she didn’t know he was still selling sex on the side, just in a different way, whenever he had a boyfriend anyway. His boyfriends were also his sugar daddies.

Drinks on me, you need a break anyway doll face.

He stuck his tongue out at her as she grabbed his wrist and pulled him in an attempt to drag him from the desk.

Okay, okay, you win, he laughed as he let her pull him from his studies and drag him away.

RUSHING HOME FROM SCHOOL, he tossed his backpack on the bed. He was running late. Throwing off his clothes he ran into his bathroom. Jumping in the shower, he turned on the faucet getting blasted with cold water. His body involuntarily flinching away from the cold spray, he waited impatiently for it to heat up. He only had an hour and a half to get ready. Looking pretty was his livelihood. He was arm candy for his sugar daddies. He made a face as he rushed through his shower.

Drying off, he opened the cupboard that rested near the toilet and pulled out his hair dryer. Normally he would let his hair air dry, but being short on time he didn’t have that luxury. Plugging the hair dryer in, he had his short hair dried in no time at all.  Reaching for the gel that rested on a shelf he grimaced. He hated this part and the feel of gel on his hands.

Walking out of his bathroom, he went over to the bed, and sighed in relief as he spotted clothes hanging on the wall near the bed that Leota must have picked out earlier in the day, as well as a jockstrap and socks laid out on the dresser, with shoes to match on the floor near the dresser. Leota was thoughtful like that. She was always mother henning him and he was happy with that. She knew he was going out with Daniel and she knew where they were going.  She had probably guessed that he would be running late tonight. He always did on test days.

He was just slipping on his last sock when there was a knock on the door.

Coming, he called as he tugged up the last sock.

Stumbling from the bedroom in his haste, he opened the door.

Ready? Daniel’s voice, high pitched, like nails on a chalk board asked.

Daniel wasn’t a bad looking man; he was fifteen years older than Shawn and looked good for his age. He had a crew cut hairstyle, his body slightly muscular, his skin was the palest Shawn had ever seen and considering how many people he had serviced in his young life that was saying something, if Daniel could learn to control his vocals that would be an improvement.

Almost, just need my wallet, keys and to slip on my shoes.

Than do so, I haven’t got all day.

Shawn rolled his eyes as he ran back to his room. Going to his dirty pants, he dug out his wallet and keys. Stopping near the dresser, he pulled on the black shoes. Walking from the room, he sighed and forced a smile.

Sorry about that, it was a testing day. You know I usually run late on testing days. Thank you for your patience, Shawn made certain his words sounded grateful when in fact he was irritated.

Daniel grunted annoyance clear on his face.

Rolling his eyes mentally, Shawn sauntered to Daniel and rubbed up against him, then nuzzled his lips against the other man’s neck, his warm breath brushing over skin.

Want me to make it up to you baby?

He felt Daniel’s interest immediately as it prodded against his leg.  Guess that was a yes.

    Give me that ass.

Yup, it was defiantly a yes. The man had an annoying voice, sucked in bed, but Shawn wanted access to the man’s bank account. Marrying the man’s wallet essentially was his goal.

SATURDAY MORNING FOUND him lying in bed with his head thumping from a hangover and his stomach rolling. The party he had attended last night with his boyfriend, Daniel Crewson, had been wild to say the least, then again, they always were. Shawn really shouldn’t have been drinking like that last night, but he wanted to keep his boyfriend interested in hopes of eventually getting something more permanent then just the title of boyfriend, preferably the title of husband. Shawn knew he would never be rich just being a paralegal. They made alright money, but he wanted more than that. He wanted financial security. In between boyfriends he still slept around and had a nice wealthy clientele to fall back onto if he needed to.

Getting up, he went to his medicine bag and took two tablets from the red-and-white bottle of Tylenol. Swallowing them dry, he went to the bathroom. Just as he was exiting the shower Leota opened his bathroom door holding a glass of something.

She blinked at him as he scowled at her, Don’t you know when to knock?

Aw honey, you ain’t got nothin’ I ain’t ever seen before, besides, even if was straight I’d be all over that, she said in a fake southern accent.

Shawn grinned, And we both know even if you were straight, you wouldn’t get this, because I’m as gay as they come.

This is true, now drink this, She handed him the glass of questionable liquid.

Squeeze your nose and drink it in one go.

    Really Leota?

"Really darlin’ I’m surprised you managed
