    All he can say is that God was distracted.

    I think that’s the reason, the only reason I can imagine.

    He thinks God got distracted, started playing World of Warcraft or something and just, lost track of time, lost focus and then, it all fell to shit. Well, really, it didn’t fall to complete shit because, if he hadn’t been distracted, I never would have met him. But, I met him and so, all is right with the world. Sort of. Kind of. I mean, yes, it is. He’s great, and I love him, and I believe we will stroll through this life together but, at first, while God was distracted or whatever, things were a little … well, up in the air.

    That’s funny. You don’t know it just yet but, trust me, it’s funny.

    So, it all came together on the lower east side of Manhattan where I not only live but also work. I work in a bookstore, an independent one. Not a huge, mega-bookstore with a cafe and a swimming pool and the works but, a little shop run by a little man who had a shop full of books that he collected, inherited, found, bought and then decided, instead of selling them on eBay or some other online joint, he would open a shop and sell them to people. Actual, look-you-in-the-face, see-your-eyes, hand-you-a-book kind of people. His
