Twin Witch Sisters - Baileigh Morreau

    Chapter 1

The bell rang, and students scrambled to head to class on time before the teachers closed their classroom doors.

Tawni and Tina were running to history class, late as they always were. The twin sisters were always running late for every class, from one class to the bathroom so they could fix their hair and makeup, then doing the mad dash to the lockers and then off to their class again.

When the sisters scrambled into the classroom, their teacher looked at the girls as they were taking their seats and said, As usual, you are both late for class. Once the door closes, the class is to start. Be on time, both of you, next time. Please take your seat so we can get started on class.

The two girls told their teacher that they would be on time from now on.

Okay, class, let us get started. Today we are going to work on family history. I have a project for everyone due in one month, the teacher said as she handed out the sheet of paper with the instructions and what she expected to see in the family history project.

The teacher asked the class how many students knew their family history or how many knew where their family came from.

No student could answer the teacher’s question. They thought about it and knew the teacher was right. No one in the classroom knew anything about the history of their family.

The teacher had her students’ attention and interest in this project about their family background. Once class was over, all the students talked about their history project as they were leaving their classroom.

Tawni and Tina were headed to their lockers and were talking about this project and their family history.

The two girls knew they were going to have trouble finding out from their parents about the history of their family, as their parents never talked much about their relatives on their mother’s side and had never attended any family reunions, at least on their mother’s side.

Tawni said, Yeah, I know. Do you think that our family may have a secret to hide, or is it that they just don’t get along with Mom’s family and there is a feud going on between Mom and her family? We can’t do the family history on Dad’s side, we did that one last year, so we have to do Moms side this year, and that is going to be real fun.

Maybe could it be either, one, a secret or, two, a feud. Either way we have a history project to do, and it needs to be done by the end of the month, Tina said.

Oh, how I can’t wait to dig into this, but we have to figure out where to start. If our parents are hiding something about our family history, then we may not find anything in the house, Tawni said.

We are going to have to search the house, and I mean in every closet and cupboard, plus all boxes, in case Mom and Dad have hidden all the history on the family, Tina said.

Shall we start when we get home, sis? Tawni asked.

Definitely because if we have to search for this stuff, then it may take a while because we are not going to get any information from Mom or Dad, Tina said.

The bell had rung for the end of the day, and the girls headed to their lockers. They gathered all their homework and went to their car, then headed for home, setting out a plan for their homework from their other subjects that had to be done for the next day. They were extremely excited about starting on their history project.

So the girls arrived home, grabbed a snack, took it to their room, got started on every other class, saving history for last. Math homework done, they put the books to the side, science done, books to the side, then French—Oh, I hate this subject, the girls said, Now it is done. The girls got excited and started searching for some information on their family history.

All the hall closets were searched and all the boxes looked in as well. The two girls then headed to their parents’ closet to search boxes and folders. The girls found nothing in the hall closets and the bedroom closet in their parents’ bedroom. With the two of them frustrated, they sat on the floor in their parents’ room.

Tawni lay on the floor and happened to look over under her parents’ bed. It was then she noticed the two boxes that said, Family secrets.

    Chapter 2

"O h my, oh my." Crawling to the side of the bed, Tawni pulls the two boxes out from under it.

Tina said, What have you found, sis? Something of help for our history project?

Just might have here two boxes, and look at what they say. Tawni turned them for Tina to see the words on the end.

Tawni and Tina each took a box and headed back to their room to sort through and find out why these boxes said family secrets.

In their room, with the door closed and their parents not yet home from work, the girls started to go through the papers and read every word on them.

As they went through the papers, they were speechless and shocked. They looked at each other with a glazed looks in their eyes.

Tawni said to her sister, Can you believe this, Tina?

Um, um, I am really not too sure what to make of this, Tina said.

We used to live in Salem, and we moved here when we were two years old. Our relatives are into witchcraft, and they practice it as well, Tawni said.

I know, so why did we move, and why are our parents avoiding telling us this? Tina said.

I am really not sure, but I am not going to let them hide this anymore. I think they need to face this and tell us what we need to know.

Tina agreed, and when the two sisters heard their parents come home from work, they headed downstairs to speak with them.

The girls’ parents said hello girls and asked how their day at school was.

Tawni said, Oh, school was fine, but we have a history project to do, so we need some information about our family as far back as we can go and find.

The girls’ mother said, Well, I am afraid you can’t do that project because we don’t have any information for you. You know we don’t have any communication with the family.

Tina said, We know, because you don’t want to be associated with a family of witches. Oh yeah, we found the two boxes of the family secrets under your bed.

Start spilling, and no more hiding. We will be doing this project, and we are tired of being lied to about our family, Tawni told them.

The girls’ father said to his wife, I think they are old enough now. I am going to order in tonight for supper, and we do need to tell them what we have been keeping from them this whole time.

The twin girls and their mom sat on the couch while their dad ordered supper.

Their mom, Trisha, started by telling the girls that, Your father and I thought it was best if no one knew of our family background just to prevent torment for you, girls.

A background in witchcraft would not be good for you two going to school. You would always be teased, their father, Michael, said.

Tawni said, So why did we move at two years old from Salem?

What was the problem or reason for the move? Tina asked.

Trisha said, After you two were born, your father and I had seen trouble brewing in Salem, and we did not want you two to be caught up in the trouble if it blew up. So we decided to move out of Salem and not ever talk about my side of the family and keep it from you two just to protect you both.

So what was the trouble in Salem that was starting up? Tina asked her mom.

They were aware of witches in the town, so they were going to hang every witch found. So our family all packed and got out of Salem in order to keep our history, their mom told them.

Tawni asked, How many witches are there in the family that are practicing this craft?

Not sure, only because we have avoided all contact with all of my relatives because we did not want both of you knowing, their father said.

Ding-dong, they heard the doorbell ring.

    Supper is here, Michael said.

Michael answered the door and paid for supper. He set the pizza on the living room table, and the family dove and grabbed a piece.

Tawni said, Well, we have a month to do this project, and we need to pull this together to find a way to be able to present this to the class.

Tina asked if their mom was a witch.

I was a practicing witch, but after you two were born and we decided to move, I stopped, but we do still have family that does practice. I’m just not sure how many, Trisha told them.

Can we meet our relatives please? the girls asked their parents.

Oh, I am not sure that is wise, girls, their father said.

This is our history and who we are, and we do have a right to know our family. We have gone this long not knowing our relatives, and we would like to know some of our history, the girls told their parents.

Michael said to Trisha, They have a point, and there is no point in keeping the family from them now they do know.

Okay, you both have a week of school left, and next week is spring break, so I will get in touch with my sister and we will go there. She is the only one I know that does still practice the craft, Trisha said.

Michael said, I have already booked next week off for my holidays, so you will have to see about your work, honey.

I have it off already ’cause I thought while the girls were off, we could take a holiday away, but instead we are going to my sister’s to deal with family history, Trisha said to Michael.

After supper and after the girls had forced the family secret information out of their parents, the girls went upstairs and heard their parents talking.

Trisha said to Michael, I am scared for those girls. It is in them. They are witches. We saw it before we moved from Salem.

I know, witches with no training needed. I am scared too, but if we don’t help them with this, we are going to have twin daughters loose with no guidance and a craft they don’t understand, Michael told Trisha.

Tawni and Tina looked at each other in shock, surprised to hear that they were natural-born witches. This craft is in our blood? This is awesome, they said to each other quietly so their parents would not hear them.

We do need to understand this, but let us go through this information in the boxes and start on the writing part of our family history of secrets, Tina said. Tina was levelheaded and full of reason while her sister was always jumping the gun, the ask-questions-later type.

Tina and Tawni went to their room and started to sort through the papers and writing the paper on relatives and their capabilities as witches. The girls even included any kids who were involved in the craft as well.

Tawni said, If this only affects the females’ side as witches. What about the males? They are practicing this craft as well.

Tina said, Hmm, that is a good question. We should have asked Mom that considering this seems to fall on her side of the family for witchcraft.

Tina gets up to head downstairs. She heard her mom on the phone talking to someone, and it sounded like someone from the family that Mom was not too happy with.

She came back upstairs to tell Tawni, and the two went back to the top of the stairs to continue listening to their mom arguing over the phone, clearly upset over the conversation, and watching their dad pacing back and forth in the living room.

The girls went back to their room, and Tawni said to her sister, You know, we might end up wishing we did not open this can of worms. What we are up against seems serious.

There is definitely more to the reasons why Mom and Dad were keeping this secret from us than they are letting on, Tina told Tawni.

We need to dig a little deeper into this and find out why there is such worry and what they mean by us being natural-born witches who need no training, Tawni said.

Tawni, we need to find out about the males in the family. There are two types of the craft—white magic and dark or evil magic, Tina said.

Holy broomsticks! There are so many unanswered questions to this family secret that my head is spinning, Tawni said.

Oh, I know, sis, so is mine. I am not sure where to start with the millions of questions to ask, Tina told Tawni.

Hey, girls, could you down here for a minute? their dad asked.

So the two girls came down to the living room and said, What would you like, Dad.

"Well, we have it all set up. Instead of going to your mom’s sisters, we are going to be going to your grandmother’s. She has a big house on the water, or I should say river, and we will be staying with her for the week.

Your grandmother is going to be helping you girls with the craft and answering any questions that your mom is unable to answer, their father told them.

Cool, we can finally meet our other grandmother, the girls said.

Trisha said, Easy, girls, don’t get too excited. Your grandmother is an experienced practicing witch, and she takes the craft very serious, so there is no joking around with her. She has been practicing this craft since she was about five years old. She knows every spell going from turning someone into a frog or bug all the way up to making someone an ugly, gross creature.

Oh, wow, seriously? Tawni said. I have a few teachers that I could use that gross creature spell on.

How about some students turned into a frogs? Tina said.

Hey, slow down, being a witch is serious. It comes with great responsibility, and if not careful, your grandmother will bind your power so you can’t use it, only when you train with her, Trisha told them.

Your mother is right. You girls might think this is cool and get even with kids at school, but it is very dangerous. At the same time, when done wrong, there can be huge trouble and consequences to the actions, their father told the girls.

Look, we know magic and witchcraft is nothing to joke about, and we have to take it seriously. It is that we find that we finally get to meet relatives and that we have a really cool family history, Tawni and Tina told their parents.

Well, we will see how cool you find it when you do your training with your grandmother and she is all serious and no fun, their mother said to the girls.

There smile left their faces, and they knew that come summer they would have no fun. It would be all magic training and learning how to control their magic and abilities. Still the girls were happy over this newfound secret about their history.

    Chapter 3

The girls got up and went to school the next day, and a lot of their history classmates were asking everyone from their class if they had found out anything cool from their family history.

When the girls heard students asking everyone, they thought it is best not to say anything. They did not want to freak or scare anyone in the school.

Tawni was asked by one history classmate, and she just told them that she was still trying to dig up information.

Tina said the same thing when she was asked later in the day when she went to the one and only class that she did not have with her sister.

The last few days of school before the students were off for a week’s break went pretty fast for Tawni and Tina, but their history teacher, Ms. Young, clearly reminded them of the project that they had to do over break because she wanted a report on how they were coming along with them when they got back from spring break.

Tawni and Tina, after class, spoke to their teacher about their family history project and the report she is requesting.

Ms. Young was a little shocked and surprised by what the girls had found out and agreed that informing the class on this knowledge could be a dangerous thing, at least till the girls were able to find out more about their family history. At first, the teacher thought the girls were joking, but when their teacher saw the seriousness on their faces, she knew it was no joke.

The girls thanked the teacher and left the classroom. They headed to their lockers, gathered everything they needed to take home, and left for home.

At home, the girls saw their parents’ vehicles in the driveway and wondered why they were home so early.

Tina and Tawni went into the house and asked why they were home so early from work.

Their mom said, Thought we would come home early in order to get things ready to hit the road tomorrow morning so we could head to Grandma’s.

We are leaving tomorrow morning? Tawni asked.

Yup, we are so I suggest you both get started getting your things ready. You are not going to need anything fancy. Sweatpants and T-shirts and maybe a sweater or two. Definitely you have to have your hair pulled back, their mother said.

No fun for both of you this week. You’ll be up early and training all day long. You will get a couple of breaks for meals, but that is it, their dad told them.

We will leave Grandma’s being witches in practice, Tawni said to Tina.

Beginner witches or witches in training, and you can also be called apprentice witches, their mother told them.

Mom, you are making it sound so official, Tina said.

Their parents said, It is because it is the official title of you two.

I guess it would be, and this is our can of worms that we opened, so we need to deal with it now, but if it was not for this family history project, we still would not know of this family secret, Tina said.

That is right. You both wanted to know your family history. Your mother and I only wish you did not have to find out through some school project, but we are finally happy you know, their father said.

All these years, Tina and I have been wondering why we have only seen Dad’s side of the family and never yours, Mom, but now I guess we know why. It is because of this witchcraft that is on your side, Tawni said.

Their mom said, Yup, it is a secret that I have been trying to keep from you both, but I should have known sooner or later you both needed to know your true family history.

We are happy as well now that we know, but we do wish that we would have grown up with this knowledge instead of finding out now, Tina told them.

I know, but once you learn a little more about it, then you will know and understand why we did not tell you sooner, their mother said.

Why don’t you two girls go and put your school bags away and start packing stuff so we can leave in the morning? Your mother and I will get supper started, Michael said.

Okay, the girls said as they grabbed their school bags headed to their room. Each pulled out a bag and started gathering clothes to take with them to their grandma’s.

Tina said to Tawni, I wonder if we are going to get the opportunity to meet other family witches and if Mom is going to get back into the witchcraft again.

That would be cool if Mom got into it again. She could work with us on weekends, Tawni said.

Oh my, that would be so cool, Tina said.

The girls got most of their stuff packed, plus they went through their school project information. Hopefully they would have time to work on that as well while they were at their grandmother’s.

Their mom called everyone for supper and the twins flew down the stairs as if they were starving.

I did something simple. I really did not want to have a lot of dishes to do up tonight because I still have to pack my stuff yet, their mom said.

Soup and sandwiches is fine. We have not had a simple meal in a long time, Mom, Tina said.

The family had supper and cleaned up and sat to watch a little television, then the girls went upstairs and chatted about what they could be expected to be taught from their grandmother.

With the house locked down for the night and the girls told that they would be up early so they could head out on the road before too much traffic starts, they all went to bed early.

The alarm went off. Michael and Trisha got up, placed the packed bags at the door, and got the coffee running. Trisha wakes the girls to get them started on crawling out of bed early on a Saturday morning; the twin girls were never up early on a weekend. With the excitement the girls were facing, however, they were both out of bed, dressed, and downstairs with bags at the door before their parents were even done with half of their first cup of coffee.

Wow, this is a first. You both must be excited about this trip to Grandma’s, their dad said.

Yes, we are, for sure, they said.

Tawni asked if they had time to grab something to eat.

Mom said, Yeah, try to use up the milk. I don’t want to see it go bad while we are gone for the week.

Cool, I want a bowl a cereal, Tina said.

    Me too, said Tawni.

Milk will be gone. No worries there, honey, Michael said.

Tawni asked, How long of a drive to Grandma’s do we have?

It is going to be a four-hour drive. It is a long trip. She lives just outside of Salem, and that is another hour’s drive to get there, the girls’ father said.

Oh wow, I guess we should take something to do in the van for our long trip, Tina said.

How about we take the boxes of family history, and we could go through it to see if we can figure out our relatives, Tawni said.

Can we do that, Mom? Tina asked.

I don’t see why not if it is going to help you not only with your school project but understanding and knowing your witchcraft relatives. Sure, go ahead. Just try not to lose any of the information, okay, girls? Trisha told them.

We won’t, Mom. Don’t worry, we find this information interesting and helpful, so we will look after it, Tina and Tawni said.

The girls went and grabbed the two boxes of information and brought them downstairs, and their dad started loading the van with their bags while their mom made sure the curtains were closed and the house was locked up, as well as the windows.

They loaded up into the van and hit the road for their long drive to Grandma’s. Partway there the family stopped to top up the gas, grab a bathroom break and some cold drinks, plus snacks, then headed back on the highway.

Grandma had been sitting on her front porch waiting for the arrival of her daughter and her family when they finally pulled in. She headed down to the driveway to greet them. She could hardly wait to see her twin granddaughters, who she had not seen since they were two years old.

Trisha steps out of the van and said hello to her mom and gave her a hug. She then introduced Tina and Tawni to their grandmother.

Grandma Florence put her arms around the girls and gave them a hug and kiss on the cheek.

Michael opened up the van and had the girls grab their bags and the two boxes to take them inside.

Florence brought everyone in the house to get settled in. She asked the twins, So what do you think of the family’s secret?

Tawni and Tina answered, We find it cool, but we are still confused by a lot of it and have several questions about it.

Well, once you two are settled in, come to me, and I will see what I can do to answer some of those questions and solve the confusion for you two girls, their grandmother said.

That sounds like a plan, Grandma, the girls told her.

So the girls went up to their room and got settled in. Tina said to Tawni, Grandma seems really cool.

Tawni said, Well, for now. She is not training us yet.

True enough, sis. The cool side of Grandma could change when the training starts, Tina said.

The family all came down to the sun porch and played catch up of what has been happening over the years as they have not been to any of the family reunions.

Once caught up, Florence asked the two girls about some of their questions.

Tina said, We know that the females in the family are practicing witches, but what about the males in the family?

Grandma said, The males are bound, so they are unable to have any part of the craft. In the past the males in the family always turned to evil and the dark side of the craft, so the females bind the males when they are born so they are unable to do or have any ability to do magic.

So it is all white magic that the family does, working with potions and herbs. We are basically into the healing, Tawni said.

Yeah, pretty much, but there is the odd thing we do aside from potions and herb healing. I would like to take today and tomorrow to solve confusion and answer questions, Florence said.

I like that plan, Grandma, the girls said to her.

How many female witches are in the family that do practice? Tawni asked.

That practice, there are fifteen. We have ten that did but stopped like your mom did when the entire family moved from Salem, their grandma told them.

Trisha said, So there is none of the family still living in Salem anymore?

Nope, about a year after you moved, everyone followed. The entire family was out of Salem within a year of you moving, Florence said.

Wow, I never would have figured that my moving out of Salem would have carried a chain reaction, Trisha said.

Things got pretty bad a couple of months after you left, and they thought they needed to get out the same as you did earlier, her mom told Trisha.

Grandma, we have learned that we are born naturals to this craft and need no training. What does that mean? Tina asked.

It means that you were born with this craft knowledge and skill. You know automatically what to do with it, she told them.

So why then do you need to train us on this? Tawni asked.

Well, I don’t know if you can call it training, but because you both were raised never doing this craft, unlike your mom, your abilities have gone dormant or asleep, and I need to help you bring your abilities to life or wake them up and help you to control them, she said.

So does every female family witch have this natural-born gift? Tina asked.

No, they don’t. It is only given to those who are twins, and you being the only set of twins in the family, you have been given the gift, Florence said.

Really, Grandma? So only twins get the natural-born gift…What happens if the twins are a brother and sister and not twins girls or even twin brothers? Tawni asked.

Well, in the case of twin boys, there would be binding of the craft ability, and in the case of boy and girl twins, the boy’s ability would be bound, and the girl would be born natural with the craft as you two were, she told them.

So once dormant ability is usable, then what, Grandma? Tina asked.

I will teach you control, and we have to find out which one of you has the mind craft and which one has the elements craft, she said.

What are you talking about with the mind and element craft? Tina asked.

Trisha said, With a set of twins, you both have the same ability, but each one of you will have a special ability that the other one won’t have, so one of you will be able to read thoughts, and the other will be able to control the four elements: wind, water, fire, and earth.

Oh my lord, where is all this coming from? I never expected to have those types of abilities. I only expected to be casting spells and making potions from herbs, plus working with crystals and gems, Tawni said.

It is sounding like because we are a set of twins, we have been given a gift that only twins get, Tina said.

Trisha and her mom said, Yes, you figured it out. Trisha said there has not been a set of twin girls in this family since before your grandmother was born. We have only ever had twin boys or twins of a brother and sister.

Grandma Florence said it has been several years since we have had twin girls in the family. For them to take these abilities of mind and elements is completely amazing, but controlling them is going to be the challenge for you. They are strong powers.

You both must be able and ready to take these and show them who has control over them ’cause they will try to control you, Trisha said.

Mom, were you ever planning on getting back into the practicing of this craft? Tawni asked

I really don’t know if I am willing to or if I really want to get back to it, she said to the girls.

Leave it to me, girls. I will see about talking your mom into it ’cause once you leave here, you will need help at home to continue the practice, the girls’ grandma told them.

    Okay, cool, Grandma, Tina said.

Mom, we did not stop for lunch, and I am a little hungry, Tawni said.

Oh, speaking of which, I have made some homemade chili, a family recipe. Come on, everyone, let me get all of us some lunch, Florence said.

They left the sun porch and headed to the kitchen. Trisha and the girls helped get stuff set up for lunch, and they sat to eat, with both girls having seconds of Grandma’s homemade chili.

How does chili sound there, girls? their grandma asked.

"On my second bowl! It is good! Mom, do you have this recipe?" Tawni asked.

Trisha said, Yes, I do have it, but I just never have the time.

Tina said, Leave it on the counter, and I can make it put it in a slow cooker on some morning on a weekend.

Her dad said, "You need to get out of bed in the morning, mainly before noon.

Everyone laughed, and Tina said, True, but with practicing this, I have a reason to get up early.

That is right. This craft is going to take both of you working together, time, and dedication in order for your special ability to work and your craft to be in sync with each other, their grandmother said.

One thing you must know, girls, is that fighting between you can never be allowed to happen. It will only lead to trouble—and really bad trouble, the girls’ mom told them.

What kind of really bad trouble? Tawni asked.

The look on both their mom’s and grandmother’s face answered the question for Tina, who said, Evil trouble, right?

Yes, evil trouble, their grandma said. You are the only set of female twins to survive past the age of two years old. Evil has always prevented this family from having surviving twin girls. That is why your parents had to move from Salem. The trouble coming was to prevent both of you from taking the place that you are meant to take and the family was able to sense the evil coming for the both of you.

Tina said, So that is why you never told us about this family secret till we were old enough to be able to handle the whole family news.

Trisha said, Yes, there was more to this family secret that you both would have never found in those two boxes.

Tawni said to Tina, "We are going to have to talk to our teacher that we cannot have this family secret going through the school.

What do you mean going through the school? their grandmother asked.

Trisha said, Relax, Mom, that is how they found out about this. Their history class is doing a project on family history, so the girls came home and somehow found my two boxes of family information. They know that this is not something they are able to speak about, and an oath of secrecy is taken, but they are figuring out a way to do this class project without having the information getting through the entire school. This project must be presented to the class, and they were given a month to do it.

This is going to be a challenge for you two girls. Are you able to do your dad’s side of the family history? their grandma asked.

Nope, did that last year, and we have the same teacher as last year. She told us that we had to do our mom’s side this year ’cause Dad’s side was last year. She remembered, Tina said.

Tawni said, We could talk to our teacher and tell her that our mom’s side of the family is something that we would rather not bring to light and there is an oath of privacy involved and secrecy among the family. That it can’t be talked about at all.

That is actually not badly worded, Tawni, but how is this going to affect your mark? her mom asked.

Tina said, We could write up that after researching our family history, we have discovered that we found a pile of secret oaths and privacy papers signed by family members and are unable to discuss our family history with outside people.

    Nicely put, Tawni said.

I totally agree, both her mom and grandmother said.

I am so happy that both of you have come to realize on your own that it is dangerous if people know about our family, Trisha said to her girls.

Trisha’s mom said, These two girls are ready to learn the craft.

Yes, they are, and I think I will be joining on awakening my power and ability, Trisha said.

Really, Mom, you are going to get back into this craft? Tina said.

Yes, I realize that I have two very smart daughters away beyond their years, and I should have told you about this family secret sooner and not left it for you to find the secret from under my bed, Trisha told them.

The two girls got up from their chairs and went around the kitchen table to the other side, and both gave their mom a hug with smiles on both their faces.

As they watched the girls, Michael and Florence were also smiling with excitement and joy from knowing the girls were smart beyond their years.

Tawni stood from hugging her mom and asked her grandmother if they could start learning some of the stuff with the craft tomorrow and what is used, not necessarily how but the what.

Sure can. If there are no more questions resulting in the craft and only questions about what the craft is all about, Florence said.

Tawni said, I think I understand our history of it now and the why it was such a secret.

As do I, Grandma. There is no way I am passing this to the outside world, Tina said.

Okay, girls, so tomorrow after you have breakfast, we will go over what all you two powerful twins will be dealing with, and we will be taking breaks for lunch and supper and just maybe an afternoon snack, their grandmother told the girls.

As they all finished up from lunch, the two girls told their mom they were going to go and write their report so it would be done for school. That way we don’t have to worry about it later.

All right, girls, good idea, Trisha told them.

The girls left and went to their room and wrote the report, stating just as they had told their mom and grandmother. Once finished they brought it down for their mom to read it over.

Oh wow, girls, that sounds so professionally written. Trisha hands it to her mom to read.

Boy, does that ever sound professional. Girls, good job. Now let’s hope your history teacher will have no problem with this information, their grandmother said.

A question, Grandma, if she wants more information, what can we do about it due to the fact that no one is to know that witches exists? Tina asked.

You may have to tell your teacher, but swear her to secrecy and curse her so if she does speak to anyone about it, she may turn into whatever creature you want her to for a certain amount of time, she said to the girls.

Tawni asked if they would know how to do that if they needed to and if their report was not suitable for their history teacher.

Yes, you will learn that one this week, but I will also be helping each one of you to set up your own grimoire, their grandmother told them.

Our own what? Grimoire, what is that? the girls asked.

Spell book full of different spells that I will teach you, and as you learn them, they will go into your book. You must learn them first before they will appear in the book, Florence told the girls.

I have several different things for you both that I have been keeping for when you both know about this. I have been saving this stuff for you, their grandmother told them.

The more I know, the more excited I get with wanting to know more about our heritage from this family, Tina said.

I think your grandmother and I can see the excitement in your eyes and on your faces, but be careful. Don’t get too excited. Your concentration needs to be focused on learning your craft, the girls’ mom said to them.

We know, but it has to be the excitement of finally finding out what we knew this family was hiding, though we certainly did not expect it to be something of this nature, Tawni said.

You mean you knew that there was a family secret? Trisha said.

Oh yeah, why else would we not know or associate with family from your side, Mom? And why would you refuse for us to know anyone on your side or even attend all those family gatherings?
